Lap Band Leak

I recently went back to my surgeon to have a fill because I didn't have any restriction at all. The nurse inserted the needle to withdraw and I did not have anything in my band. She put some kind of thicker saline in in hopes that it would stop the leak if there was one. Has anyone ever had to have a port replaced and what does it involve?

Hi, I haven't had a problem with leaks but just wanted to let you know that if you come over to the band forum you will get lots of responses from people. Hope the thicker saline works.

I am nearly in the same situation with the leaking band.  However, I do not need a port repacement.  My leak has been confirmed in the bad itself.  This will require band replacement.  Now, I need to figure out how to get my insurance company to pay for the revision surgery.  My surgeon had indicated that if it had been a port replacement, then the surgery is simple and could be done under local antistesia.  Good Luck.
