I thought I would start the thread today. I'm not finished with my exercise for today but I'm confident that I will get the last set in before bedtime. This is dinner out and grocery night so I won't be home until late. I got up early and did my first set of physical therapy. It was a little easier today than it was last night. Then, this afternoon, I had another session at the PT center. They added a couple more exercises and also added 5 minutes on the treadmill. I felt great afterward. Before bed, I will go through all the exercises once again and do 5 more minutes on the treadmill. My goal is to follow through with this everyday. On Tuesday, I will have another session at the center and they will add more exercises. Some of them are stretches for my hamstrings, which are very tight, and the rest are to strengthen my core, to take the pressure off my lower back. I'm really pleased with how things are going.

 Hey Karen!

I'm still on rest from walking and I must confess that my hip is feeling better without it.    But I wannnnnaaaa waaaalk!

I had PT today, too!  I did 5 minutes on the recumbent bike (except I called it the Incumbent Bike--bahahaha!  I didn't realize it until my PT guy Brian had walked away.  I actually said out loud, "Holy crap, did I just call this an incumbent bike???" and started laughing), then worked my way through a series of leg exercises to strengthen my hips.

I felt like I was in an old school jazzercise class or something, doing leg lifts out the wazoo!  Plus, he was having me rotate.  First I was on my back, then on my right, then on my stomach, finally on my left side.  I blurted out, "Jeez, I feel like a rotisserie chicken!"  I got a good laugh out of Brian, so it was okay that one was out loud!

Then he did a roller pin thingie to my hip to help loosen up the tissues.  I liked that.  I wish I were twisty enough to be able to do it like that myself.   In the end I got to lie there with an ice pack on my hip for 10 minutes.  Maaaan, I love PT!!!

I'm glad you're enjoying your PT too.  Enjoying it is a huge part of being able to keep it up.  Your back pain is going to be a thing of the past in short order, I'm quite sure of that!

Keep up the good work and let us know if you got the final set in after you and Dail had your night out!

HUGS!!!!
Denise

Hi, Denise. I'm so glad therapy went well for you today. I did fine too and I ended up doing my other 5 minutes on the treadmill and my other set of PT exercises before Dail even got home. I was afraid after all the shopping I would be too tired to do it so I got it over with. I felt good afterward. Therapy was a little funny for me today. The lady I saw today, Hilary, seems to disagree with some of the things Casey has me doing. It puts me in an awkward spot. She changed some things and I cooperated but I love Casey and think he knows what he is doing so at home I do those anyway. I see him again on Tuesday. Hope they work it out and don't confuse me. LOL
I remember the leg lifts from last time. My back pain was radiating into my hips and legs then. Thankfully, this time it is just my lower back so we are mostly working on strengthening my core. I see abdominals in my future.
Hang in there, Denise. I'm glad things are going well.
