Good Morning, I hope this finds everyone safe and sound after last night's storms.  We did not have anything like some of you, we just had LOTS of rain!

I am so THANKFUL it is Friday..   it has been a week, here at school!  But I've been hopping on my challenge, stickign with my food journal, my exercise and reading the boards for inspiration!

Hope everyone else enjoys their day, their weekend (thankfully it should be a warm, sunny one!) and good luck on your challenge goals...

Amy,
I am trying to figure out the best format to keep track of what I'm eating.  Do you use a website, or a food journal, or did you make your own form?  I guess what have you found that works for you to keep track of you food?  I really need to start doing this so that once I have my surgery it'll just seem natural to write everything down.

I hope you have a great weekend as well!

I use the old fashion way - a compositon book and ink pen - and it works great for me.  Just date each sheet - then write down the time you eat or drink, what you eat or drink, amount you eat or drink, grams of protein, etc.  At he end of the day total it up - ounces fluids, grams of protein, etc.

Also, The Daily Plate and other websites are available and offer ways to track this.

I also keep a journal of my exercise and other activities on a daily basis. The journals give you documentation of what's going on and can help point out areas for improvement. You're wise to start doing this now so it becomes a habit after your WLS. Good luck.

I do what Bob does, now, but I had been using an official food diary from Jennifer, my nutrionist.  Now that I have that full, I keep a small notebook around me, date the top of the page, and write down what I eat... and keep a running total of protein to make sure I'm getting enough.  I also make a talley mark for each 8oz of water I drink to make sure I get that in too!

The only other thing I write down is what exercises I do each day.

Nothing fancy, but very functional!

I keep a notebook in my purse to track my protein, liquid and caloric intake. Not facy - but effective!  Also I am hopping along on my challenge - down 3 lbs so far - 2 dozen eggs!

Have a great weekend everyone!
