10,000 Wasps.....ouch.

Oh my goodness.....I know it is summer and all, but I swear that there are 10,000 wasps just under my skin to the left of my belly button & they are all ticked off at me and stinging the heck out of me whenever I bend over to pick something up or move too quickly.  I have talked to Dr. Houston &, apparently the wasps are normal, but I really need some Raid or a trip to Home Depot for a can of insect killer.

Has anyone else had this problem?  Stinging, burning, pulling pain? It hurts a bit when I walk, but, mostly (and I mean it's really, really painful & I have a pretty high tolerance for pain)--even when I lean over to brush my teeth it about brings me to my knees.  Oh, and when I am trying to sleep--HORRIBLE if I fall asleep & then move a certain way in my sleep--it wakes me up & last night I felt nauseous from the pain.

I am still taking the liquid Hydrocodone...it doesn't really touch this pain...it makes me maybe not care as much about it, but the pain is still very real & very there.

Dr. Houston said it would be gone in 2 weeks...I am hanging onto that hope.....

Not feeling like hopping today....xo, Micheala.

Very normal!  At 2 weeks, my wife and I went to Shelby Park to walk around.  After what turned into a 1 mile trek, I felt fine.  As soon as I got home though, I got a case of the hiccups!

The next day, I started back to work.  Well guess what?  I thought I was gonna die!  I could not breath, my side hurt.  All I wanted was pain killers, but did not have nay.  I did end up going home and taking off the rest of the week!

Dr Dyer told me, the area I was hurting in, was the place where they inserted the stapler.  So, it is normal to feel this way.  I just never heard it referred to a "angry wasp under the skin"!  Now, I do work at Home Depot, so if I need to bring you any wasp repellent, just let me know!

Hope you feel better soon!

It's so good to hear that someone else had this pain...I had heard that the incision on the left side might be painful after surgery, but this is nowhere near the incision....so, for all it's worth, I'm glad you were hurting, too (ug....that sounds horrible!!)....actually, I'm glad you're not hurting anymore!

And as for your job at Home Depot....ahhhhhh....I love it there....I spend almost every spring day in the garden center.....including today...it's our "home" away from home....

xo, Micheala.

I did not remember the "wasps"...  but now that you mention it, my left side did hurt a lot... burning, stabbing...  never thought to call it "wasps".  Later, after losing probably 80 lbs, I kept feeling something inside popping, moving.  It just had a feeling of clicking or popping in my left abdomen.  I had to go see Dr. H for it, and he did not find anything.  He said it could have been a fatty pocket...  it was weird...  it doesn't do it anymore, but for awhile, it aggravated me to death!

I wonder if the nerve endings where he made the cut are still sensitive? I had a very easy WLS not much after pain. Now I would be willing to stop by and smack you around with a rolled up newspaper! BwaHahaha!!!! Seriously I hope it eases up soon if the hydracodone isn't given you relief it must be bad, take care. C'ya Bob

Well, no pain no gain right....fine.....get the newspaper.....getting smacked around w/a newspaper has to feel better than this!  Maybe it is the nerve endings...it's something...and it's unfavorable, at best!! Ug!  xo, Micheala.
