Since she's having to sleep sitting up, does she have a brace for the arm?   Or a bunch of pillows under her arm?    So that shoulder doesn't feel like it's stretching from the weight of her arm.

Shoulder surgery is always so unpleasant.   I hope she feels better, soon.   And try to keep the kids busy (G).   I remember that my husband's version of taking care of our kids when I was sick or injured was to let them come and play on my bed when I was trying to rest.   I'm glad it was an easier surgery than the doctor anticipated!
