I've just been floating around aimlessly the past few weeks, waiting for the insurance process to finish and the schedulers do their work at the clinic. I suck without structure.  Gotta have a plan or I just sit around getting Ooh Shinyed by everything.

Now I have the date and I can start focusing on some goals, like getting below 240 before surgery.  And I got off my butt this morning and hit the elliptical.  I did it 4 of 5 work days last week, but was spotty with my walking.  Not anymore!

Today, so far--30 minutes at a slow pace on elliptical.  Plan two x 20' walks for today.

Tomorrow, goals--elliptical and walking.  Plus food diary!  Get back on the food wagon, thank you very much.

Who's gotten off their butts today?  NEXT?!?

 You work it, BOB!

You'll have to let me know if you're swinging by campus any time soon so we can say hi!  Till then, keep swinging those weights!

Great job, Amy!  How much are you and Connor loving the Y?  The elliptical is my favorite (obviously), though I love using weight training machines at the gym.  It makes me feel strong.

Are you still working with a trainer, or do they just give you the plan and show you the machines and let you do your thing?  Sounds FUN!!!

Your first fill!  You'd better watch out or I might end up stalking you at the clinic to see how it went! Heh heh!

HUGS!!!

The Y had a 3 in 1 program which is a three phase program for 12 weeks.  Every four weeks you meet with a trainer.  The first meeeting is to start you on one cardio machine and 5 strength training machines.  After four weeks, you meet, check progress, and he adds more time on the cardio or a different cardio, and adds 3 more strength training machines for four more weeks.  Phase 3 is the last phase, and the trainer adds time or a cardio machine and shows you the rest of the strength machines.  At the end of Phase 3 you meet with a trainer for a last time to compare start to finish.   All this is part of your membership fees.

IF you want to know more, or want help with free weights you can make an appt with a trainer and it costs.

I am happy with the free program!  :)

Connor LOVES the Y-Playland!   They have a three story play area they can climb all over and if they get to the top, they can slide down!   He never is ready to go home when I come back to pick him up.  BUT when we get home he is ready for a bath and bed, because he is so tired!

I'm a bit nervous about a needle in my belly...  you stalk too closely I might recurit you to come and hold my hand while he pokes away!

Sounds like a win-win situation for both you and Connor--you get a great work out AND you get a happy but worn out toddler to boot!  I love it!  Once I get a few more bills paid off, I'm gonna have to look closer at a Y membership.  I have an elliptical and a bike at home, but save for small free weights, that's it.  Vanderbilt's Dayani Center has some super cool strength training machines.  There's one where you can do chin ups, which is my favorite!  But they're moving out to 100 Oaks, so I don't know about the convenience factor.  We'll see.  One step at a time for now.

I used to be terrified of needles as a kid, but once I started getting allergy shots in the early 2000s by Lisa the Stabby Shot Nurse, I got over it.  Then I had steroid shots for carpal tunnel and Dequervain's tenosynovitis in my wrists.  Huge needles.  So the needle (as long as I don't have to WATCH it) doesn't scare me too much.  Least not yet.

I'm a stalker professionalé, so please let me know if you want some emotional support! I'd be more than happy to come over!

You are so sweet.. but that is awfully early in the morning!  If you are in the neighborhood stop on by, I'll be there..

I am thinking they said they deaden the area before they go in with the big needle???  I should be ok, I'm just a big whiner when it comes to pain!    Even after three years, I have no idea how I survived Connor's c-section!  (snicker)

Lucky you I have an 11 o'clock meeting with my boss that I am still having to prepare for.  Otherwise, I'd swing by and say hi!  We'll definitely meet at one of these events!!!

Did you have to have an amnio with Connor?  If so, I bet that's similar but they don't go anywhere that deep!  I have heard They say it isn't too bad.  Lynn that comes to the occasional support group meeting didn't even remember if it hurt or not.

You'd better let us know how it goes when you get home.  I bet it's no big whoop at all.
