Let me introduce my self!
Hello everyone! My name is Ron and I'm on schedule for RNY this Tuesday at 7:30 am. I've completed all my preliminary tests, attended all my classes and seminars and I hyped and ready to go!
I've been on my liquid high protien diet now fo 2 weeks and have survived rather well even if I do say so myself!
I guess I should say "re-introduce myself" since I first joined the forum in Feb 2006.
I went through all this 3 years ago, only to have my surgery canceled 2 weeks before my sergery date. Thanks to Medicare! This was when they abopted the "Centers of Excellance" policy and made no provisions for those of us who had already been through so much, getting ready for surgery.
Any way it looks to be a go now, and I'm really excited! I have all the usual co-morbidities, diabetes, high colesterol, bad back, deteriating joints in my knees and back, and I'm one of those few men who have SLE Lupus. They say that fewer than 10% of the cases of Lupus reported are men, but hey, I have always been equal opertunity all the way!
That's the basics. I now ready to be the next big loser!

Hey Ron--welcome to the TN Message Board! And congrats on your Tuesday surgery!!! Wow..that is so soon!! We are glad you are here--sorry for the problems you went through, but it's great you've made it to the finish line!!!
I just won my appeal and my RNY surgery is scheduled for March 17th..so I understand that you must be floating on air!!!!
Good luck! Micheala.
Thanks everyone! Good to be back!!!
I feel like I should hold the world's record for longest surgery prep! Three more years of long waiting, holding off the depression, continued pain from my morbidities, yo-yo dieting, and worsening diabetes, has only made my intentions and resolve to be much stronger! I'm just more determined than ever now, to make this thing work. I want it, I deserve it, and I can't wait to "Git er dun"!! Not that I'm looking forward to the surgery it's self, of course, but I'm anticipating the results on the other side! A new me! If you haven't noticed, I really feel great about this, and really feel that this will be a major turning point in my life. A turning point to a new much happier life!
I do appreciate the thoughts and prayers of everyone and just knowing I have support means alot. My family have been very supportive of me so far and most my friends are also. Sure I have some friends that are skeptical, but hey, I'm not doing this for them. I'm doing this for me!
Thanks again! I'll be keeping everyone posted, post surgery!

Ron, I had my surgery Monday 2./9. I was on an insulin pump and have not had it on since surgery. I still have to take small doses of insulin but it is getting better each day and I am amazed with the progress I have made. This alone is reason enough for me to sing the praises of WLS.
Welcome back to the Tennessee board and best wishes on seeing "less" of you in the near future. (LOL)

Ron,
Welcome or welcome back to this great and supportive board! Congratulations on sticking it out and succeeding in your quest for better health.
I had RNY on January 6, 2009 by Dr. Colquitt and was very happy with him and his whole staff. They are great and you can call them with any question you have.
Again, good luck and there will be prayers coming your way on Tuesday.
