Hi, I can't believe this happened but according to the pain, it actually did happen.  While trying to get my scooter in my Dr.'s office door this morning as it's not wheelchair accessible, I broke my right ankle, the Fibula bone.  It's in a splint until Thrusday or Friday when the cast will be put on.  Talk about pain.  I took two Dilaudas at 4 pm, they kicked in at 7, but the pain didn't go away, so I just took 2 more.  At least it didn't happen on Friday the 13th.  Richard (my honey) has been sick a lot these days.  They can't do open heart surgery for a bypass until he has his throat scoped as the Dr. thinks it's cancer.  So please keep both of us in your prayers.

I would love to be able to go to the Mind, Body, and Sprite meaning  next Thrusday evening.  I live just off Haywood Lane in Antioch, so if there is anyone out there that is going, can you please pick me up?  Here's a couple of phone numbers that you can call me at.  I live with my honey and the lady that owns the house.  Her number is 834-6659, and mine is 535-1411.  I would surely appreciate it.

Thanks and with love, Kathy

Kathy hate to hear one more thing added to your list of ailments. Hope and pray there no complications. You would think if anyone was wheelchair accessible it would be a Doctors office!  Hang in there. C'ya Bob

Thanks Bob, the cast goes on tomorrow at 1pm.  I think hot pink should perk me up.  Ninty % of Dr.'s offices, labs, imaging offices, pharmacies are not wheelchair accessible.  All in violation to the Americans with Disabilities Act.  There was a court house in Rutledge, TN on the other side of Knoxville that didn't have elevators  for the wheelchair to get up to the 2nd floor for court.  I've had to have judges come downstairs to accomidate me when I broke my hip and pelvic back in 2003.  The chemo pills I have to take makes my bones brittle.  I just took the splint off  as my foot was really swollen, and it's all black and blue.  Sure does itch a lot.  Feels like a thousand fleas are biting me.  I can't even get my house shoe on but I was able to yesterday.  I wish I could get my scooter in the house, the walker isn't very steady and I have already fallen once today because of it and three big dogs in my way.

I can say I got off my butt today.  LOL Hard time trying to get back up off the floor without putting weight on my ankle.  Thank goodness for Dilauda.  It doesn't take all the pain away, but does take some away.

I'm hanging in there the best way possible.
