I just wanted to post and let everyone know I'm still alive and well. Things are going pretty well. I am still dealing with a bit of gas and some abdominal muscle spasms but otherwise okay. It has been a struggle to get any water in. I usually manage my protein shakes so protein hasn't been a problem. Those go down well cold but it seems water only sits well with me when its warm, so I've been heating my water in the microwave. I'm using cranberry apple water flavoring and it isn't too bad warm. Like cranberry tea or something.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well.
Blessings,
Karen

Karen, I am glad to hear that you are getting your protein shakes in.  GOOD GIRL!  You learned well, and early!  Yes I remember when cold water hit my tummy wrong...  I liked it lukewarm.  Now the colder the better!  Have your taste buds changed yet?  Everything seem really really sweet?

So far my tastes don't seem any different. I still like the protein shakes I had before surgery and I've always loved cream soups which is about all I'm allowed to have right now. It goes down very easily. Nothing seems too sweet at the moment. Things may change later on.
Blessings,
Karen

Wow, Karen! You are doing really good!  My tastes were all whacky for quite along time after surgery...  and I couldn't stand any of the stuff I previously liked...  I am glad that you got started on protein shakes long ago.  It will surely make the transition much smoother.  Glad to hear you are doing well and before we know it, you will have a picture that won't even look like the Karen we know!!  lol.  We'll ask, "Who is that new skinny member?"

Thanks, dear. I'm walking as much as I can and it helps. It is still pretty painful though as the muscles in my abdomen are strained. I overdid it the first few days I was home. Mostly, I'm feeling pretty good though.

Blessings,
Karen

Good to hear you are feeling well.  I have the opposite problem: fluids are easy, protein I have to work on!

Sounds like your right on track. I too found the warm beverages went down easier for awhile, even the SF Popsicles I loved pre-op took time to enjoy agian. Keep up the good work! C'ya Bob

Thanks, Bob. I'm hoping I will be able to have room temperature drinks when I"m a little farther out. Until then, I will just do what I have to do.
Blessings,
Karen
