Waiting for the letter...

So happy for you!   When I got my letter I faxed it to the doctor's office, and my copy reached them before the copy from the insurance!

 I'm so excited to get my Realize band, Amy!  

Last night was the support group meeting and then I had a dog training class and dinner with the dog ladies.  

When I got home there was a letter from BCBS in my mailbox.  I opened it and was like, awwww, man!  It was a note regarding the fact I changed my online password.  PSYCH!  

When I do get it, I'll scan it and email it and then take it over to Bobbie myself.  The perks of being on campus--I can do a drive by at any time!

I got my letter from BCBS right at 7 days after they called.  It will just fly by!

 I hope so!  I can't wait to get that letter so we can get a date scheduled!  I'm not as concerned about when the date is, just getting it down.  I have lots going on in March, but obviously this takes priority!

I'm glad you're doing so well, Erika!  It's very comforting to see patients from my clinic doing well and thriving after their surgery.

 Congratulations, I'm glad to see another patient of Dr. Williams. To let you know what I was told by Vandy (of course I had Aetna) was that they'll schedule you once you get the letter, which they say you'll get it faster than them. Then just contact Bobbie or Cynthia there and they'll have you fax it to them and then really get things moving. That's what I went through but maybe your's is different.

Good luck with everything. You'll do great, plus you have the best surgeon 

 Yaay!  Good to chat with you Kenny--I read your and Missy's blogs and it is great to meet someone who's got the same surgeon.  I know Dr. Williams is the newer kid on the block, but at least from reading his CV, it sounds like he's some kind of laprascopic wonderkid.  Works for me!

So how long did it take from when you sent the letter till when you got the date?  My math based on your blog was approval on 22nd of January and surgery on Feb 5--that's only a few weeks, right?  Was the 22nd when the insurance gals got the letter or when you initially heard?

Sorry for all the questions!  I'm just looking forward to getting a date, whenever it might be.  Super exciting!

Oh, I got one of those bookshelves for my blog after seeing yours.  I am a big Stephen King fan, but I prefer his old stuff to his latest works.  Gotta add more books to my shelf when I have the time!

Yeah, Dr. Williams is the best, my last night in the hospital he came in and checked on me at 10pm at night. I told him, not that I'm not glad to see you, but what are you doing here, you're gonna be in the dog house with your wife. But he really is great, and his surgeon fellow Dr. Carpenter is great too. He'll be starting out soon to and be the new kid on the block.

Any ways, Aetna actually contacted Cynthia or Bobbie first and then Cynthia emailed me just a few minutes later. It took 7 days for me to get my letter, and I believe that I got my letter on Jan 15th, and that I heard from Cynthia/Bobbie on Jan 8th. When I faxed the letter to them on Jan 16, I got me date later that day. I was originally scheduled for surgery on Feb 12th and when I came in for my appointment, they told me I was being moved up 1 week to Feb 5th.  I know it seems like so long when you just want to get it done, but honestly it moves so fast.

Yeah, I'm a huge Stephen King fan too, I must have like of his books in my library (including the Richard Bachman ones), some more obscure than others. I think my favorite is the Pop-up book of The Girl who loved Tom Gordon, it's just really cool.

I know it's hard waiting, but it will all start happening very quickly.

YAAAAHOOOOOEEEEYYYYYY!!! I am so excited...I actually just jumped on the computer tonight to check & see if you had heard anything and there it was!!! What a great day!!!  I hope, hope, hope, hope I AM next!!! I KNOW, KNOW, KNOW you will be next.  Like you've said before, you are detail oriented from your school training, you documented the daylights out of everything,  you've done every single thing required.  It's just a matter of time and how long it takes Ms. Happy Insurance Lady to get the stick removed from her butt and sign off on it!

We'll form a stick removal posse and head to Chattanooga with pitchforks and torches and take care of some business!  I doubt it will come to that, but I am more than prepared to jump on my horse and join you down there!  hee hee!

Hang in there, Micheala.  I'm sure it's just a matter of hours or days until you get your great news.  It's GONNA happen!!!!
