Question about TennCare

Does anyone knw about how long it takes TennCare to give a decision? I have heard that they always turn you down and you have to go thru appeals. I am hoping that is not right. I am hoing that I will know something by March 1st. My appointment is Feb 12 so I am hoping to hear back soon there after. But I did hear they could take up to 30 days.I hope and pray I will not have to start over.

Hi, Sonya. I answered this in PM but I'm going to answer again here in case there is someone else who wants to know. I was approved with TennCare the first time and I've heard others say the same. The big thing with TennCare is to make absolutely sure your paperwork is in order. Do a good and throrough job on it and if you meet their criteria you should have no problem getting approved. My approval took a little over a week and I'm told that is a little longer than normal.
