And AWAY we go......

Okay--just a short post to ask e'one to think positive thoughts for me & say lots of prayers...yesterday I had my last appt w/Pam Helmlinger, R.D. at Centennial and then raced over to the YMCA to workout w/my personal trainer & do a MicroFit Evaluation &, of course, I had both of them sign off on everything--including verifying that yesterday was my seventh monthly appointment w/them.

Today I saw my PCP for my FINAL supervised PCP appointment and he signed off on everything & gave me a great letter for my insurance (wow, he is SO helpful & supportive!)....then I ran to Kinkos, made copies of the seven individual monthly packets containing all medical records, dietitian consults, personal training sessions & behavior modification notes & FedEx'd (overnight) the whole thing to the Appeals Administrator at Highmark Blue Shield (PA) and requested an immediate first level appeal of my original denial.  My original denial actually indicated I had met all requirements except the 6 months supervised weight loss program.  So, now I have DEFINITELY completed the six month requirement (and more) and I am ready to sit back & wait for some great news from my insurance company.  They have 30 days to respond...oh how I hope it's sooner!

I even checked w/Dr. Houston's office yesterday & they said that March looks good for a surgery date for me--we can schedule it once I am approved!

AHHHHH....I am so excited that I am so close & I can't wait to be a BIG LOOSER, too!

So, tomorrow I start tapering off of caffeine in hopes that I will have my RNY in March.

Good Luck on your insurance battle - sounds like you have everything together and they should approve you..   My figers and toes are crossed for you.   I was talking to Holly at Dr. Houston's office just today trying to come up with a date (mine is 2/24).  I really like everyone at Centenial - everybody is so friendly and helpful.   

Let us know when you get an answer - and remember to bug the insurance company.   I called mine 3 times a day - luckily I got approved on the 3rd day after they got my paperwork.  

Thanks & congrats on your surgery date!!! I know Dr. Houston will take great care of you.  Wow--you are so close...just 20 days!!

I will start bugging the insurance company immediately....as will Eloise at Centennial.  I just checked the Fed Ex tracking info & the packet is "on the truck-ready for delivery" in PA, so....I'll call tomorrow!

I'm about to start the insurance wait, as my chart should be submitted any day now to BCBS. I'm waiting for Bobbie at Vandy to let me know when it's been sent.

Denise--have you heard anything?  Has your chart been sent yet?  I am biting my nails waiting & wondering when I should call & start "bugging" them--the Fed Ex I sent to BCBS arrived yesterday morning, so, maybe I should wait until Monday....gheeze...it's hard to wait!  I am keeping my toes crossed for you!  xo, Micheala.
