Dr. Appt. today

Well I said I would so here goes. I went in today for my check up. I had gained 6 lbs I was pretty sure that was going to happen, and to be honest I expected it to be more. I was concerned that I would not get much of a fill, since all the problems I have been having, the doctor wanted to take things real slow as far as me getting back to where I was. We talked and I told him my concern's that 1cc a month just is not working for me, I need more restriction. He gave me 3cc so that puts me at 4cc and I was at 6cc before he de-flated me. He is still concerned about my situation especially now since I have this cold/funk whatever it is, he is concerned about all the sinus drainge that I am having. I have a appt. in the morning with a new PCP, so I'm sure they will give me something. So I am trying to re-focus on the whole picture going on with me not just my weight. All I can do is move forward with everything and let the past be that, the past. I can't go back and change what I have done, but hopefully I can use what I have done and correct it forward. Thanks to everyone for all the post, weather I wanted to read them or not, I needed to read them. I have fixed a new ticker for everyone to see. With everything that has been going on I will have to say that I am still pretty darn proud of myself for the weight that I have lost. I could not have done without this board's help.

Thanks folks,
Cheryl

Yeah, you should be proud--117 pounds LOST!

The important thing is that you got back into things only having gained 6 pounds.  I've heard some people say they are too ashamed to go back to the doctor because they have gained.  I think that is probably the worst thing to do (especially for bandsters) . . . the shame drives you right back to food for comfort, makes everything worse and then drives up the weight.  A vicious cycle for sure.

You went back in time to keep yourself from doing any major damage (re-gain) and I'm sure you will be fine!

I'm concerned about colds and drainage too.  I have chronic sinus allergies and am always hacking and coughing.  That is my only concern about the band . . . a gal at the support group meeting said the band and drainage don't play well together.  But I've been getting shots for two years come May, so hopefully that will not be as bad as years past.

Just keep moving forward, Cheryl, and know that we all get off track sometimes.  I know I do!  You'll be fine!!!

So hang in there and remember we're all here to help you out!  And you and Phil should go hit the pool!

Cheryl, I am proud of you for going back and you Dr. Morton would never YELL at you!! He is one of the best doctors I have ever had and his staff is wonderful. I actually have to go in sometime next week, I will have to call and see what day because they had to reschedule me because he had something come up on my date.

117 lbs. is nothing to sneeze at, you have done an excellent job. Keep up the good work.
