I'm glad I was caught saying something nice about someone! lol.  I surely wouldn't want to be found saying mean things...  Yvonne, you are always so positive.  You bring a ray of light wherever you go.

I agree on the part where you said it's THEIR problem...  once I had an individual (also a bypass patient) judge me for something that I was treating myself to.  And, one of my very brilliant friends (I have many, you know) told me...  it wasn't about me.  It was about HER fear and knowing that she could not maintain control and that is what sparked the reaction.  We all have our triggers...  what may be easy for some, might be extremly difficult for another...  but judging is not going to get us anywhere...  same said for our choice for wls...  someone else might have lost weight very easily on diet & exercise... whereas they may not have the health issues that many of us had...  preventing us from being successful diet candidates...

I too had a blogger attack me for having wls.  But that was her goal, to find people who did not agree with her fat acceptance philosophy, out to change society's view of the obese (which I think it needs to change) but she was unwilling to try to change herself... she rathered everyone else change!

Good to see you, my friend...

OH MY GOD! You made me laugh!  Getting caught saying something nice about someone!

I'm thinking I know who gave you a hard time.  You know...I even tried to come to terms with my obesity because after 30 years I didn't think it would change.  I even thought about going to those get togethers where the men like big girls but I couldn't stand myself so that wasn't going to work.  Instead I isolated...I went to work and Walmart (so I could buy food and big clothes in one place).  Because of that I learned a lot.  I had to work harder than anyone else at my work place but instead of looking back at it and resenting it, I look at it as a blessing because I learned a whole bunch of stuff.  Being positive about our lives is a gift and removes us from the mindset of our bad triggers.

My last blog post talks a lot about what others think of us so you might want to check it out HERE.

You are so awesome Mel.  I am one lucky girl to have found you.
Blessings, Y

Mel and Bama-you have it right!

My hairdresser is forever asking me about the surgery and the way I eat.  The last time I saw her, I was telling her about protein.  She said-"Well, why didn't you just do that before you had the surgery so you could lose the weight?". If I could have lost the weight without the surgery, don't you think I would have? Hello????  I really liked the "just".  People who are overweight are generally jealous, and people who have never been overweight just don't have a clue!
