Oh Marilyn, your poor neck!! Or should I say your poor cat? 
Cats are too smart for their own good when it comes to figuring out where they're going. Dogs are just so excited to get to Go For A Ride that they don't care about the destination. My girls LOVE going to the vet because they act like ambassadors in the waiting room, greeting all the people.
Great job on the bike! Take it easy and feel better as I know you've had a lot of neck and shoulder problems.
