Grandbaby update - some good, some not so good

I have been asked to post an update on my daughter's pregnancy so here goes.

She had another ultrasound January 21st. That US showed a problem with the development of the right side of the baby's heart. They did an amniocentesis to check for chromosome irregularities.

The good news...the baby is definitely a girl! and she does not have Downs Syndrome. It will be about another week before we have all of the results of the amnio.

She has an appointment February 3rd with a pediatric cardiologist at Vandy. She will probably have to change to an OB at Vandy since that will now be where they will want her to deliver. We will know more after she sees the Ped Cardio.

The 21st was a rough day for Angela (DD) and Brian (DSIL) as they tried to take all of this in. They are feeling much more upbeat and positive now after talking with her OB after the US and amnio appt.

I just ask that you all continue to keep them all in your prayers. We just want them to take home a baby. If we have to deal with some additional surgeries and challenges, that is okay, we'll get through them.

Susan, thanks for the update, and you all will definitely be in your hearts and prayers... I hope everything goes ok with the baby. I know that they have waited a very long time for this blessing in their life. Please tell her that we are all thinking of her and praying also...
