I have gotten all my paperwork in all I like is seeing the surgeon and I get a letter saying they dont take my insurance. Im so upset. But then again I got pre registration form to Dr. Olsens office to fill out. They say I may have to go out of network. I really dont know what that means. Im just scared after all I have done I am gonna have to start over. I am so depressed and confused. They knew I was on Bluecare from day one. Im just confused. I really want Centennial to do the surgery. I like their program. Any advice would be greatly appreciated......

I had the same issue.  the hospital is in network for my insurance, but none of the doctors are.  I ended up going to Vanderbilt and have loved my experience.

I would get a copy of everything you have done with Centennial to keep for your records and then just talk to the people at Vanderbilt.  What's the worst that can happen, right?

I know it's not exactly what ya wanna hear but when it came down to it, I had to make a decision on whether or not I had the money to pay out of pocket.  For me, that wasn't an option so I had to go somewhere else.  With that being said, I have enjoyed my experience and found Dr. Williams to be wonderful.

Hopefully, you won't have to start your journey over. I hope this works out like you need it to.  :)

Bless your heart I know it's a downer, but don't worry, call your ins. company and find out which Dr. and Hospital  is covered and go from there. You will have to go to another seminar, but hey it gives you a chance to contact some of us to get together with. If you wanna pm someone. And see if by chance they are free for lunch or something while you are in.  I hope this helps. This how I had to do it,  I learn that away I recken. But MyHotComments.com

I used to have BlueCare before I was forced to switch to AmeriChoice just before submitting for approval. I do know that when I first started out that Jamie McDowell over at Baptist was taking BlueCare. You might check with him. He is in with Dr. Spaw at the Metabolic Surgery Center at Baptist.
Good luck.

Hang in there Sonya!  We've all traveled that road, and know how bumpy it is.  I can offer my normal advice in all of this though...

BREATHE!!!!!

It will work out in the long run, just be prepared for those bumps.  I am taking a course in money management this year.  One of the things I have learned is, emergencies happen.  So, be prepared for little setbacks, and when they happen, you won't notice them as much.

Believe me, it's easier said than done!

Hang in there!
Scott thumbs up

One of the best pieces of advise you were given was make copies of everything for yourself, then recopy for the new WLS Center of your choice. Vanderbilt is a great Surgical Center of Excellence give them a call if they are in network and they can advise you. You should be OK your record and requirements are mostly set by your insurance provider. Get with them and ask for in writing exactly what they require and who is in network. If you choose to go out of network your out of pocket can be very substantial. Like Scott said breath this is just a hiccup and will be fine. C'ya Bob
