Why I am happy (just this second) that I was denied....;)
Susan--woo hoo....140---awesome! Now that's WAY more exciting than one of those eggs!! I can't wait...so, are you at your goal weight? I think Dr. Houston set my goal at 155, which is fine, but I am setting my sights on 145...I would be pretty thin at that weight....what a dream...I can't wait to make it a reality...I will be saying, "What eggs?".....I plan to have a great meal before surgery & then kiss it all g'bye w/no regrets....I am so excited to have this surgery...I just can't wait.....thanks for sharing! Micheala.
Is it ok I add you as a friend?

One if you feel the need to have one last hooray with food your not really ready for WLS.
The second enjoy what you want because self control in its self hasn't worked so wait until you get the tool before you start beating your self up over food issues.
I worked hard pre-op to prepare for WLS habits started to change, mentally geared up to be successful.
But that being said I looked forward to my last supper!
It was a great way to involve a select group of family and friends to get involved with my journey.
To have one last final social meal that was going to be on hold for several months and never in the same way.
I will never regret having that night and if putting to rest your urge for candy so be it.
Your body, mind and spirit will change soon enough, do what you need to do now to prepare for a life long journey of success.

Thanks, Bob--I appreciate your thoughts. I knew, for sure, that I was ready for WLS when my original surgery date was set a few days before Thanksgiving & friends & family urged me to wait until after the holidays because of so many food-focused celebrations. I told them that having WLS so close to the holidays didn't matter to me...that I was committed to changing the way that I look at food as a focus on nutrition and that this was a lifelong change, so it didn't matter that I was going to miss "one last holiday" (as they put it)---in fact, when my WLS was going to be just before the holidays I considered it one of the best Christmas presents to myself & my family---a way to add precious years onto my life as a healthy, happy part of the family.
So, the egg post was just for fun...my surgery was rescheduled due to insurance reasons, so, I am awaiting an early March date for RNY, but as for now, I don't question my preparedness for surgery or my committment to this life-changing journey nor do I question my splurge on three Cadbury eggs...;)
Thanks again for the post...take care, Micheala.
Barb---yup, caffeine is the first thing on my list to go. My husband (who is a health nut anyway) has just kicked the habit & I am following his lead.....decaf coffee is fine in the morning...I rarely have time to even finish a cup...I am tapering off the Diet Cokes & should be good to go by surgery.....and thanks for the head's up... I will watch that small print! Micheala.
