How on earth is it the 23rd already?? Time flies!!!
I went for a weigh in but officially down only another half pound in spite of my careful eating and increase in exercise. My body is having fun messing with my head!
Plus, Jessica B. said that the insurance gal wants me to get down to 246.0, which means instead of just under 2 pounds, I have to lose 3.5 more. No rest for the weary, I guess.
At least I FINALLY got my letter from my primary care--that is ample reason to celebrate!!! That and warm temperatures with sunny skies!!!
Here's what I've done to get moving:
Today--So far: 20 minutes on elliptical and several walks. I'm up to 8619 on my pedometer and still have at least one more 20 minute walk today. I hope I hit about 12,000 steps.
Yesterday--Accomplished: 10,382 steps walked and nearly 2900 calories burned according to the bugg. I did a good 30 minute workout on the elliptical and the rest of the steps were from walking at work.
Tomorrow--goals. Hmmm. Heading with my dog buddy to Ohio for a club meeting. I will have to be good about what I eat while on the road! I'll take lots of bottled water and my Atkins bars, which have 18g protein and are really filling. I don't think we will leave till midday, so I want to get up and do my routine on the elliptical, as most of the weekend will be spent sitting in a car!
What have you done today???? NEXT!

So far today I have repainted some used furniture that I purchased for my son's new room. Helped my friend finish up moving boxes. Walked around walmart for 2 hours while waiting for a prescription.
Later I will go to work for at least 4 hours. Stocking shelves, lifting boxes, and bending. Great workout.

You are so industrious, Gidget! I hope to have a fraction of the energy you have, because it seems like you are always moving and doing stuff. I think about moving and doing stuff, but structured exercise is all I can handle. The rest of the time it's thinking about doing things like refinishing furniture, but I can't push myself to do it.
I'm using you as one of role models in terms of future energy to gain once I have surgery and really start losing.
Keep on moving!!!

Denise,
I used to be crazy with the exercise as well. I started to go to the gym 6 days a week from the time my Doc said GO. LOL. I was faithful to the gym for 9 solid months. Then I started working and had no time to hit the gym. Now I am trying to work it back into my life once I get moved into my house and all that good stuff.
Its hard for me to believe that this time last year I was 13 days post op.

All I can say is WOW! You have done incredibly well, Gidget! Your pictures show your transition and I am so impressed--you should be proud!
I've realized that I don't mind exercise at all . . . it's a really good time to clear things from your head. I hope to stick with my 5 days a week plan as things move forward.
Again, I'm just taking mental notes of the people that I have seen make the most of their tool, like you, and socking away what they are doing to be so successful.
You look amazing and I bet you feel fantastic, too. Did you get lots of energy as the weight came off? And your family is adorable, too!!!! : )
Happy belated surgiversary!

Denise,
I did get my energy back. I can run circles around my kids. The best day of my life was the day I ran up the stairs and didn't get winded. LOL Besides the day that my youngest child was able to put her arms around me completely and hug me.
You have used the right word "tool" thats all it is. Its a TOOL, and as long as you use it properly you can accomplish anything with it.

Good job on the routine, Juanita!!!
I LOVE water workouts!!! I never went to a formal class, but I worked with a physical therapist (I almost wrote physical terrorist, though mine were never mean!) on a routine that I loved. Plus I just love being in the water.
Dream: having my own indoor pool! Realistic dream: pay off credit cards and have enough disposable income to join the Y and use their pool. Someday, someday!
Keep up the good work!
