thanks.  The nurse was the one who suggested the Arthritis Tylenol.  Hopefully, I will lose so much weight so fast, my arthritis will be much more manageable!

Erika,
One of the hardest things for me was to get off my Mobic for my arthritis.  I ended up getting steroid injections in my knee every 4-5 months to compensate.  The rapid weight loss did help but like my ortopod said-the damage is done.  I also found the recumbent exercise bike to be a huge help.  Dr Bolar told me at my annual eval that I could start on Celebrex, but never on Mobic again.  I just started it.  Hopefully the Arthritis strength Tylenol will help you.

Thanks--the thought of Celebrex possibly is encouraging

Rapid Release Tylenol works pretty well for pain. I had to stop ibuprofen a while back and have been using this ever since.

Karen, I knew I liked you for a reason! LOL.  I love the Rapid Blast.  It helps me with cramps, kidney infection, kidney stone, headaches.  I would much rather have this than a liquid pain medication that the doctor gave me for my kidney stone last year, and also the medication that the doctor gave me in the ER for kidney infection.  It doesn't make me feel weird and helps take the pain away.  Pain medications hurt when they start to absorb into my system, and I have to lay very still, quiet and it is not a good experience for me at all.

My nurse friend says she knows someone who also has kidney problems and that he uses nothing but Rapid Blast/Release Tylenol.  It helps him tremendously also.  Whatever they got in that stuff, it sure works... and is much safer than other meds.

Erika,

This is a wonderful sign that you are getting closer and closer to your surgery date. Yay….

My suggestion would be to go strictly by the instruction sheet that has been provided by your surgeon. He will have acceptable medication information provided. Only take what is listed. If you veer from this you are seriously risking your surgery procedure. If something is detected in your system that was not on the list you could be sent home and you have worked way too hard for this to happen.
