Yes, Yes, Yes, I am loosing even with my thyroid problems.

My primary care physican is even wanting to do blood work at my 3 month anniversary because he says of the patients he has who has hypothyroid issues who have the surgery, their medicine needs to be monitored and usually lessened and sometimes even taken away due to the weight loss after WLS.

Maybe you could have your husband visit your doctor with you to hear first hand that yes WLS does work, and it will help with the thyroid problems in the long run.

Good luck!
Amy

Sonya ~

I have hpyothyroidism. I had it before I had wls surgery and I still have it. My surgery was in Sept. of '07. I have had my levels re-tested but my medication has not even had to be adjusted. However, I have lost over 110 pounds and have gone from a size 22/24 to a size 6/8. Tell your husband, THIS DOES WORK!!  Good luck!  ~ Tara

Hey Sonya,
I was diagonsed with hypothyroidism several years prior to WLS and have been on medication since then. I had surgery a little more than 15 mos ago and have lost 150lbs. I have had my Thyroid Stimulating Hormone levels checked and have not had to make any adjustment to my thyroid medication.
So as far as my experience...it does work and it is the best thing I have ever done for myself!
Good Luck to you!
