This is Justin's Mom and he has a question and doesn't have his computer. He said his pre-op says for him to drink one bottle of milk of mag and his concern is that the instrucktions say on 2 to 3 teaspoons. I told him if the pre-op said do it to do it but what do I know I am just his mom.

If anyone can answer please respond. His surgery date is Monday Jan 19th!!!

J-Mom, I've not heard of this as pre-op? But the might be doing it to protect the pouch from ulcers or keeping the bowels regular to pass any blood that comes out via the bowel after surgery. But like you if thats whats instructed by his WLS Team I would follow their protocol.
Good Luck let him know we're here for him and bottoms up!!! C'ya Bob

Kim,

I'm not sure, but they might be using a bottle of MOM as a cleansing agent.  This will help clean him out for surgery.  I know different Docs use different items. If you are concerned, give the Doc a call before hand just to make sure!

Scott thumbs up
