I got my surgery date

Thanks everyone!

On top of getting a surgery date, I also was chosen to participate in a research study at Vanderbilt to study the effect of Gastric Bypass on the endocannabinoid system and the chemicals that are a part of this system and if the Gastric Bypass surgery causes changes in this system. There will be some pain involved as they will insert the equivalent of a catheter into my abdomen, taking fluid samples, blood samples and taking fat biopsies. But I think this is great that these things are being investigated, and if my little bit of pain can help someone down the road, I'm all for it. They can only investigate this now, as I don't plan on or think I could have Gastric Bypass again. If anyone else gets asked to do this after you get scheduled for surgery, you should, it's for a good cause, these doctor's are trying to help obese people and we should help as well.

 Well, I had my pre-op appt. today and I actually got moved up a week, so my surgery will now be Feb 5 @ 7:30 am at Vanderbilt. That seems so much closer and makes it seem so real now.
