The Support group for lap band At Baptist Hospital is the second thursday of the month. I am starting a group that meets the 4th thursday of each month at Hobson Pike Baptist Church. 3542 Hobson Pike.

I go to a support group that meets on Thursdays and Fridays at our doctors' office in that classroom in the back.  It's really good, because there's a psychologist there.  Yesterday there were 6 or 7 of us.  There's also a group I've been to that meets at the Franklin Library on the first Monday night of each month.  It, however, is not a psychologist-led group.

There's also a support group that meets the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm at the Guy Bates Conference Center @ Baptist.  This group is the Staple Club- RNY and related surgery.  We would be more than happy for you to join us.  Next meeting is Feb. 3rd.

Oh wow, thanks!   I'd accidentally written down the meetings for the lap band group.   Is the Guy Bates Conference Center in the Metabolic Surgery Center office?

Thanks!

It's in the same building.  If you come in from the parking garage, go to the right and follow the signs.  You'll go go down a long hallway.

Hmmm.. I am not sure about downtown.  I do know that each of the area hospitals have support groups and several of them even have satellite groups...

Maybe you can google each hospital and visit their web sites to see if maybe one might have what you are looking for.

Also Pam Davis of the Centennial WLS center holds a Men's Support group that meets once a month on Saturday morning... Not real sure about that, maybe one of the guys could let you know if you are interested.

Let us know what you find out......

Hey and Welcome!  Below are a group of links to the various support groups in Nashville:

Baptist Hospital

Centennial Hospital

Vanderbilt Hospital

I'm sure there are more, but this gives you a great start!  Also, be on the look out here on the boards for announcements of upcoming face to face meetings.

Once a month there is a group that gets together for lunch..  It is called "The Lunch Bunch", and we meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month.  Susan J. takes care of planning those outings.

Then we have "The Dinner Club" which meets the 4th Saturday of each month for , well...dinner!  Cheryl P. takes care of those times.

Both of these groups are more of a social gathering rather than a formal meeting.  But both of them have been instrumental in giving support and fellowship to all!

Look forward to meeting you at some point!  If we can ever be of assistance, give us a shout!
Scott thumbs up

p.s. If anyone has any info on other hospitals, I would love to hear about them.  I can then add them to my information in case some one else needs that info!  Thanks!

Thanks for all the responses.  I am planning to get to the Mens on Sat and I missed the one on Friday led by Irigh (got too busy to leave).  I knew Irigh before the surgery, is that Karma or what.  Take care all.
