Karen, I wish I would have been able to read this earlier and be the first one to say 'CONGRATULATIONS!' I know how hard you have worked, and you are to be commended. You could have easily given up awhile back, months ago when you were told by the psychologist that you were not a candidate, but you did not let that stop you. I am so proud and happy for you all at the same time!

Thanks, Mel. Yes, I was pretty discouraged when I failed the psych eval. I just didn't see a way out of it but thanks to the encouragement I got from some on this board I made a call to the surgeon about other options. I really have to give some credit to you and some others who told me to keep trying. I really appreciate everyone here, especially you, Mel.

Congrats to ya! Use the time from now until your operation date to get mentally prepared and committed to be successful after your surgery.

Thanks so much, Susan. I'm hoping that I will hear something about a date tomorrow. Seeing as how it's Friday though, I won't be upset if I don't hear until next week sometime. I know these things can take time. I will be sure to post when I know something.
