Great response folks! You added a new dimension to what life is like before and after weight loss surgery.
I had a few other reponses from my blog that brought an even different poinbt of view. I thought I would share them with you here:
Some of us don't get choices in our bariatric surgeon. when I called my insurance company to ask who my choices were, they told me flat out they only worked with ONE practice, and only ONE surgeon.
take it or leave it.

Love what you wrote. Research Research Research.
And if because of your insurance, you don't have a choice of type of surgery doctor...Research to find out How to succeed the best way with they type/Dr you can have.
One more side note...My PCP wanted me to use one surgeon. I had done my homework. When she said she wanted to refer to me to one..I brought up the research I had done and asked her to refer me to the other. She did. If I hadn't spoke up, I wouldn't have had the surgeon I wanted.
