I've never really had acid reflux and am wondering if this is it.  After my last fill I started feeling like food was sitting at the bottom of my throat.  I haven't eaten enough  to make the throw up but it feels like I'm going to a lot of the time.  I can tell my portions are a lot smaller than they were before.  So, I am really trying to eat very small amounts at a time.  During the course of time does certain foods not agree with you stomach.  So far, nothing (but mac & cheese & potatoes) have really bothered me.  Any input will be appreciated.
Thanks

I'm not  a lapband patient, but I wanted to say I hope you get to feeling better!  Is it possible that you have really tight restriction and it is making it difficult for anything to go down?  Does water or liquids give you this feeling?  It kinda sounds to me like when my friend has eaten something that gets stuck or won't go down...  and she has to wait it out...  might not want to try that particular food again.  I know that someone here who is lapband will respond soon.  They are very vigilant about that...

Good Morning grumpy.  I have the RNY, but I know the feeling.  I get it when I haven't chewed something up real well or eaten too fast. I have to have my throat dilated several times a year as I have a small passage and it has nothing to do with having surgery.  Mine is from the acid reflux that burned my throat causing it to swell at times.  I no longer have a hiatal hernia since having the gastric bypass, but the damage was done.  Try eating smaller bites and really chew things up and slowly.  Yes certain foods may not agree with your stomach.  There were times I could eat something and no problems and the next time make me sick.  You may find your taste buds change.  With the RNY ours changes a lot.  Acid reflux is fooding coming back up, may cause heart burn from the acid.  Talk to your surgeon, or try taking some tums to see if that helps.

Always
