3-Month Surgiversary!
Today marks 3 months since my VSG. On the scales this morning, I have lost 57 pounds. What a miracle! Through the holidays, through the cold winter months, I continue to drop pounds, and that has never happened to me before. I feel parts of my body becoming smaller. I can cross my legs! I can climb stairs! I haven't been this small since 1988!! Pics are posted on my profile.
In the next few months, my goal is to finally give up my 10 year love affair with my CPAP machine. This will be a real challenge for me, as I don't think I'll be able to sleep without it. I tried last night and didn't do so well. I may have to give that some time, and I do plan to have another sleep test at about 6 months to make sure that I don't really need it. It took me 2 weeks to get used to it, so I'm sure it will take at least that long to give it up.
I'm so thankful to my family, my co-workers, my friends, and my online forums (VSG, Bariatric TV, and Tennessee) who continue to support and encourage me. I wouldn't be here without them!

I haven't had a chance to check out your profile yet, but just the change of you in your avatar is incredible!
I cannot wait to have a good night's sleep . . . I have sleep apnea but don't tolerate the CPAP at all. I can't breathe through my nose, had sinus surgery to see if that'd help. I have tried multiple types of masks, no luck. I am either repeatedly awakened by the mask slipping or pressing against my pillow (I just can't sleep on my back . . . unless duct taped in place!) or I wake up to find I have taken the mask off while asleep! Quality sleep is so crucial to quality of life and I can't wait to have some for myself!
Congratulations on your great success and thanks for being an inspiration for us pre-ops!

That is amazing, but like alot of others I fight with my cpap. I wasn't lucky I am stilll on mine. But it's alright, there are other things that I've been able to leave behind. But not that, and like others I haven't found any mask that fit well enough that I can get a wonderful nites sleep. I always feel as though I got a piggie nose. It seems with everyone that I have. Then I can't get the big mask because I have the phoebia. (sp) so here I'd be.
