Hey guys, who's been moving today?
I took the weekend off because my calves were in knots from walking and doing my elliptical. It sounds like I'm doing more than I am . . . the walking thing cracks me up. I listen to my iPod and try to listen to "fast," paced music, but people just fly past me like I'm standing still. I just remind myself that if THEY were wearing a 100 pound backpack, they'd be walking my slow speed too!
Someday I'll be doing laps around those other walkers. For now, I'll just be happy I can walk 20 minutes at whatever speed I am capable.
Today--So far: 20' elliptical, 20' walk in, about to head out for my 20' walk to my car
Tomorrow--Goals: another 20' on the elliptical, plus walks. Have an appointment at the surgical weight loss center at Vandy tomorrow afternoon so I am hoping to see what I weigh on the Official Vanderbilt Scale. All the walking and my food diary last week paid off and I cracked my pesky 252 pound plateau. I have to get to 247 (so close!) to submit to insurance. I hope to weigh 250 on their scale. Woo hoo!
Who else has gotten off their butts today? You gotta move to keep warm in temperatures like this! Brrrrrrr!

Great job, Erika! The cleaning stuff burns a lot of calories! So when you finish up at your place and want another good workout, I've got plenty for you to do over in Bellevue!
If I could only be so inspired to clean out my garage . . . that'd be like 5 pounds of weight loss from exertion right there! Someday, someday!

I actually moved quite a bit yesterday. I parked far away from the entrance to the hospital and walked the extra steps. Actually it was quite nice outside, so it wasn't hard at all. I am committed to being more committed (if that even makes sense).
Its for sure that just having a membership at the Gym doesn't help. You have to use it.

Every bit counts and over time, those extra steps will become extra pounds off of your body!
I've had several memberships over the years at the Vandy Dayani Center. I love it (especially the weight machines and pool) but it's just not convenient for me. And you're so right--it isn't helpful if you don't use it.
Uh oh. I think my puppy just learned to use the doggy door! Oh I wish I had her energy! Gotta go reign her in!
