Good Morning All!
I hope and pray everyone had a good weekend!

Well, here it is the second full week in January and the New Years Mini Challenge is well underway.  It's not to late to join in the fun if you haven't done so.  All I need is a post letting me know what you starting weight is today, and how much weight you would like to lose by January 31.  That's it, simple as a sugar free pie!  Now, if you are in the "Maintain, Don't Gain" phase of life, that's fine also, just let us know that as well.

Last week we spoke about journaling our food.  I hope you have seen some success with that.  This week we are gonna talk about something that is either near and dear to your heart, or something you despise.  Either way, it is just another weapon in you arsenal of weight loss.  Or as I like to call it "mass destruction".

...EXERCISE!!!!!

It doesn't take a lot of effort to become physically active. All you need is 30 minutes of moderate activity on most days of the week. In fact, benefits on blood pressure have been noted for those who exercised as few as three times a week, as little as 20 minutes a time. Need some ideas? Check these out:

Common Chores

  • Washing and waxing a car for 45–60 minutes
  • Washing windows or floors for 45–60 minutes
  • Gardening for 30–45 minutes
  • Wheeling self in wheelchair for 30–40 minutes
  • Pushing a stroller 1 1/2 miles in 30 minutes
  • Raking leaves for 30 minutes
  • Shoveling snow for 15 minutes
  • Stair walking for 15 minutes
  • Walking 2 miles in 30 minutes (1 mile in 15 minutes)

Sporting Activities

  • Playing volleyball for 45–60 minutes
  • Playing touch football for 45 minutes
  • Shooting baskets (basketball) for 30 minutes
  • Dancing fast (social) for 30 minutes
  • Performing water aerobics for 30 minutes
  • Swimming laps for 20 minutes
  • Playing basketball for 15–20 minutes
  • Jumping rope for 15 minutes
  • Running 1 1/2 miles in 15 minutes (1 mile in 10 minutes)

Just make sure that you are using the IDGOMBT thread here at the TN Forum to jouranl any activities that you do!  It's just another tool in our aresenal of "mass destruction", or weight loss!

I DID GET OFF MY BUTT TODAY
or
I DIDN'T GET OFF MY BUTT TODAY

Either way, it's just another tool!
Have a great week!

Scott thumbs up

As usual, a thoughtful and informative post, Scott!

So thoughtful, in fact, I will go start today's IDGOMB thread!

Thanks!
