Need help, please!!

Yesterday I went to the lunch bunch get together.   Had a great time, as always.  We ate then swapped clothes in the parking lot.  I got almost home and started feeling nauseous and my mouth started watering like I was going to throw up.  Got home and went straight to the bathroom.  Of course nothing came up but I spent the rest of the night running to the bathroom.  I had severe pain in my upper stomach, under my ribs and going around to the back.  It felt like a burning knife was stuck in me.  Got up this morning and still have the same pain.  I can't even drink water without it hurting.  At first I thought I was dumping.  I'm almost a year out and have never dumped.  But when it didn't ease up after a couple hours I pretty much ruled that out.  Now I'm thinking gallbladder.  Anybody  had this before?  Please let me know.  Hubby is trying to get me to  go the ER but I'm trying to put that off.
I've had such a hard time these past few months with my colon surgery I surely don't need anything else to happen.
If it hasn't eased up anymore by the morning I will call Dr. McDowell.  I just wanted to hear from you all and see if anyone might have a clue as to what is going on.

Thanks,
Melissa

Hey Melissa
I'd either go to the ER or call the doc if you're still having it........when I had my gallbladder attack, I thought I was having a heart attack...cool, clammy, substernal pain, nausea......but to be on safe side I think I would go to ER.....never know, could be simple but might be serious (hope not)

I was away on business when i had my biggest gall bladder attack.  I was cold and clammy and nauseous as all get out.  When I tried to vomit, nothing would happen.  I had a horrible pain in my upper right  side area under my ribs and around to the back.

When I returned home (which was 3 days later) I went to the doctor and it was definitely my gall bladder.  They took it out a few days later.

No problems since except for the fact that I can have zero deep fried foods.  Makes me miserable.

I hope you feel better.  I would definitely go in.

I hope you have at least called Dr. McDowell by now. Keep us posted on how you're feeling and what it turns out to be.

Doyou hae a fever?   I, personally, think you should call your doctor and describe your symptoms.   Abdominal pain can be an emergency in a person with RNY.   It sounds more like gall bladder but there's no point in waiting around with that, either.   IMHO

Thanks everybody.  I just got home from the ER.  They did a CT scan and said it didn't look like anything was wrong with my gallbladder, my RNY or my recent colon surgery.   I went to Baptist ER because if it was something serious I wanted to be close to Dr. McDowell.  The ER doc talked to Dr. McDowell and I have to call him tomorrow to set up some additional tests.  You know, I'm so tired of not feeling good.  I've had one thing or another going on since July.  It's a new year and a new me and I want to start feeling like a new person.
I'll let you all know what Dr. McDowell says when I talk to him.  Thanks again for caring.

Wendy S.  thanks so much for the phone call.  It really meant alot to me.  Hope you get better soon also.

Melissa
