Puffy Muffin and tuna salad

Yesterday for lunch, several of us went to the Puffy Muffin in Brentwood for lunch. For those not familiar, this is a "Tea Room" bakery/restaurant.

I got the Tea Room Sampler which is small scoops (scant 1/4 cup each) of their chicken salad, tuna salad and pimiento cheese; congealed cranberry salad; and 2 small pieces of poppyseed bread.

I love their chicken salad and pimiento cheese. They are not overly "mayonnaisey" if that is even a word.

For those who don't know, I have not been able to keep tuna down since my surgery. I still like the taste...on the way down.

Anyway, I ate some chicken salad - yum; ate some pimiento cheese - double yum! After several minutes I had one teeny, tiny bite of tuna just to see how it did on my tummy. It didn't come back up but I felt queasy for the rest of the afternoon. I guess my new tummy really doesn't like tuna any more.

What do you find yourself unable to tolerate now that you used to love? Chips and sweets don't count!

I can't find it tolerable for me to eat foods high in fat and calories.
This has nothing to do with the "effects" or "benefits" of the surgery, it's just my new outlook.

Back on topic...

I used to love MILK!  Now, I can only handle skim in 3-4 oz servings... at best.

It's not so much that I cant tolerate it but for some reason when eating ground beef it seems harder to digest for me.

Mmm-I LOVE Puffy Muffin!  But my surgery was just Nov. 6, and I haven't tried it yet.  I guess I could tolerate the chicken and tuna salad-and pimento cheese sounds great, even though I'm not used to eating fat like that.  I find that I have to soften my tuna in the food processor before I mix it with mayo, and then my stomach can take it.

Any type of pasta or potatoes no matter how well they are cooked or prepared.  It feels like squares!  I also cannot do regular pimiento cheese and plain water is not so easy to swallow, I really have to have a dilluted crystal light or ocean spray flavor in it.

I can't tolerate pasta at all.  I used to couldn't do rice or tuna, but they are ok now.

I don't know about your food plan but rice is not allowed on mine. On top of it being a white carb, it continues to swell in the pouch and can cause you to become over full.

I have had the occassional small bite of rice since hitting maintenance but I don't have more than a toddler bite and I don't make a habit of it. I even request my sushi roll made without rice. I just tell them I'm allergic to it.
