I'm home
surgery was yesterday. I was walking by about 5pm. No real problems or anything. thank goodness, no nausea either.
The water trial went well and they decided that I could go if I wanted to. I did so here I am.
The worst thing about this is the gas pains. OMG. I've just sat here and massaged my sides and air bubbles just gurgle and burp. Lucky for hubby, it's stayin in the top half. I think as soon as this subsides, I will be a much happier woman.
thank you all for your support. It means more than I can say.
okay, my groggy butt is going back to bed.

Missy, we're glad you are doing well and made it to the loser's bench! Now sit back and relax until your next walk session! lol. The gas pains will go away as you walk but they also will be active and move around just a bit... I remember the shoulder pain! OMG! It was awful, and who knew gas could cause such pain in the shoulder blades!?
Take care, and keep us posted.... sip, walk, sip, walk!
Welcome Home Missy!
I'm glad things went well. Now, sit back and enjoy the rest. Sip your fluids while resting, and then get up and walk!
May the Losers Bench be a place of rest after a long day of walking.
May it be a place of comfort while sipping your favotrite protein shake.
Most important...May your Losers Bench be splinter free!
Holler if you need anything!
Oh yeah, How was Dr Williams? I've met him and his wife, and they are truly great people!

This is Missy's husband, Kenny, (who is also working on the bypass surgery, just a month behind Missy). Anyways, Missy is back in the hospital as she started having nausea and vomiting just 5 hours after getting discharged. She was admitted this morning at 7 am at Vanderbilt and is still waiting for a room when I left at 5:45 pm. The nausea medication is not working and she's still vomiting. It seems that the air/gas in her chest is bothering her and only wanting to pass by burping and seems to be also causing the vomiting. Her bowels have not done anything since before the surgery. It's very irritating as we did talk to and see the surgeon and his group this morning, and I'm trying to be patient, but it seems with the holiday they are not returning their pages or possibly short handed and they were assigned as Missy's attending doctor once she was admitted. So nothing for her care can be changed without them, which is starting to **** me off since we can't get ahold of them and nothing has changed for her other from this morning other than that they gave her a morphine pump. Please pray for her and wish for her safe a quick recovery.
Thanks,
Missy's husband - Kenny

This is Missy's husband, Kenny, again. Missy is doing alot better now, they've got the nausea and vomiting under control. She's still in the emergency room under observation, but at least they moved her to a more comfortable (regular hospital) bed. With that being said, she was finally able to get some good sleep and rest last night. I wish I could say the same, maybe I should ask for a more comfortable hospital recliner, :) The nurse tonight said that her bowels sound good, so hopefully they will start her on some clear liquids and then move on to the none clear liquids and see if things work themselves out. Also I've work on getting her up more today and walking, as that should help the air work it's way out. Thanks for the prayers and keep them coming.
