Merry Christmas to all!  And to hotmama, I hope you found a place to eat.  As I drove through Cookeville on the way to work, I didn't see anything open.  But then this is a smaller town and very conservative.  I know my suggestion of going to a hospital may have sounded strange, but patients and those who take care of them have to eat.  Every hospital I've worked at has had people who live alone  and near by come over for a meal now and then.  If you have no family and no means of transportation, a short walk to the hospital can mean a hot meal.  The cafeteria staff got to know them and always made them feel welcome.
