I have this major problem.  My bowels won't move, and haven't been able to since Thanksgiving.  I saw my GI Dr. on Monday.  I decided to start on just a liquid diet, I have taken 4 Decelux laxatives every six hours, the Citrate, Biscody, Fleet, everythng I drink I add Miralax to it, and more x-rays today.  I still can't go.  I'm to have a colonoscopy on Christmas Eve morning at 8am, so I'll be really dopey for the holidays.  No picking up my 7 month old grandson.  I am in a lot of agony and pain.  You can use your imagination and guess what I throw up.  Something is diffently not right.  I can't get into any of my smaller size clothes as I am so swelled up.   Even size 10's are tight. Size 12's are too big, can't stand anything fastened or even elastic around my waist.  I know that the pain is under my right rib cage, that I've had to go to the ER because of it.  Couldn't keep the Dilouda's down when it gets that bad.  The Dr.'s office is supposed to call me back today when he sees the x-rays.  I don't know what else to do.  I feel like PMS cramps all the way into my back while sitting or resting.  I am so bloated.  That's probably the 20 extra pounds that I've gained over the last few weeks.  My 5 month dog goes more in one day then I have since October.  It's been like once a month and it's killing me.  I don't even want to look at food as I know I will be throwing it right back up plus other stuff.  UGH!!!!!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  It has me do stressed out that I can't even get into the holiday spirit.  I just want it over with.

On the good side, I will be moving to Antioch on Dec. 31st.  So I'll have a new address and phone number.  Can't wait.  This efficentcy is depressing me a lot.  I feel cramped in here. I will be sharing a home with a 68 year old woman. I have to pay $200 a month which goes towards food, 1/3 of the electric bill, 1/3 of the water bill, and 1/3 of the cable bill.  Plus, the man I am seeing lives in the basement of the same house.  I think Barbara and I will drive Richard crazy.  She and I get along great.  He's pretty cool too.  He's going with me when I go to the Knoxville area on January 5-9th and help me with the driving and bringing back some things from that shed.  Then in February I will make one final trip over and get the rest.  I'll then have all my things around.  A lot of it will be sold as it's been in storage for 2 years and I won't be needing it.  She's allowing me 2 rooms, one as a bedroom, the other to make a private living room for when I have my family around.  That room will be kept smoke free as they both smoke too.  My grandsons can't  be around the smoke.

I need to get to packing up what I won't be using between now and then, so I will have it out of my way.

Merry Christmas to all
Kathy

No, I drank about 6 oz of Citrate and took 4 laxatives on Thrusday evening for an x-ray on Friday morning.  Didn't do a thing.  I figured well ice cream does it, so I went and got some last night, took more laxatives, still no relief.  I have to get cleaned out for that test Christmas Eve morning.  But it's not working.  I doubt I will be ready for that test.  If it has to be post-poned, I won't be able to have it done until mid January.  I will be on the east side of Knoxville for a week.  Then more tests for surgery on my left elbow due to carpal tunnel.  They didn't call me regarding the results of the x-ray yesterday.  But something isn't right. I'm taking 3 laxatives every 3 hours, maybe that will work.  Clear liquids except for ice cream. That cramped me up real bad last night and I was ready to shout hallaluha, but I didn't get to shout it. My pup does more in one day then I have done in 2 months.  Somethings has to give.  I'm miserable.

Thanks, Merry Christmas

What a bummer.   It sounds like you're impacted.

Do you think you can get a suppository in?  The combination of dulcolax-type laxative and then a dulcolax suppository several hours later is quite good.   Soap suds enema works better than suppository.   But really, it sounds like you need medical attention.

Hi Dennie, I was told today that the Dr. intends to do the procedure regardless.  Saturday after eating 2 big bowls of ice cream and bbq pork, I had some major relief.  Sunday the same combination.  Today is clear liquids except for one carton of yogurt.  I'm to take 6 Dulcolax every 4 hours.  My backside doesn't know if it's coming or going, mostly going.  LOL  I know I'm worn out.  Having to take that many around the clock, doesn't give time to do anything else. Even my pup has to be walked in between my runs.No pun intended.  I'm hungry, but only allowed water, clear juice, one yogurt and clear jello.  Nothing red today or yesterday.  If I can just get thru today and tonight, then I'll be ok.  The test is in the morning.  Apparently something showed up on the x-ray.  Last week when I saw him, he said if I couldn't have a bowel movement, he would have to post-pone the procedure, but they called me this morning to tell me whether I have one or not, he's doing the test.  That now has me worried.  I know that what ever is going on is causing a lot of pain under my right rib cage.  I've had to go to the ER several times because I was in so much pain.

My son was wondering about whether to have dinner Christmas Eve like we always do or to have it Christmas afternoon.  Since I am producing most of the food that I got at the food bank, he's going to fix it Thursday afternoon.  Today his wife, me, and my 4 yr old grandson are going to work on decorating cookies.  I've already made one batch of fudge w/o walnuts for my younger son,  a batch for my older son with walnuts.  I have one more batch to make for 3 of my neighbors, plus pumpkin bread.  I make 6 small loaves, three for my older son, one for each of my three neighbors.  My younger son doesn't like it.  Phillip is going to the store and shopping today as he hasn't done his shopping yet.  Silvia has, but Phillip has had to work 2 weeks in a row, 13 hour shifts.  Now he's off this week.  I can only have liquids after the test, so we're just having cheese balls that I made with crackers, veggie tray with dips, crackers, ham, cheese, and polish sausage, a smorguas board with eggnog on Christmas eve.

I always did that on Christmas Eve when the boys were growing up.  Then take them out to see the lights before bedtime.  But we are opening our gifts at midnight, then santa will come the next morning for the grandsons.

I had to go out to the van to get something and my hands froze that fast.  I know it's supposed to rain but I am hoping for a white Christmas. (I was raised in Michigan)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm doing fine.  My one neighbor went out and got me some more Deer Park water as that's the only kind I can drink that doesn't make my sick to my pouch.  Do you know how bad I want to eat some fudge?  It's a real effort to not eat it. I did sneak a small bite of the cheese ball mixture.  Needed some protein in me. I was getting shaky so I ate a spoon of it.  Brought my sugar back up, and made the shakes go away.  I need to go make the last batch of fudge, and put the cheese into ball.  Since I can't eat nuts and we're all pretty broke, I am going to crush crackers and roll them in that instead of in pecans.  Phillip thought that sounded better.

I'll let you know after the test what he did or if he found something.  He was saying last week that he thought I might have a twisted bowel because I was in so much pain to high up, and that it was backing up into my pouch.  The other would be scar tissue strangling the bowel.  I'll know tomorrow afternoon.

It's now 4:30am and I want to get the cheese balls separated and get the fudge done while the pup is asleep in the bathroom, otherwise she will want to go outside and it's too darm cold me to take her walking while she sniffs everywhere.

Merry Christmas,
Kathy
