Restaurant Cards

Hey everyone!  I was just curious where I could get one of the restaurant cards explaining that I've had WLS and can only eat small portions.  I've seen a sample here on OH, but I couldn't get it to print correctly.  I just thought it would be nice to have one in case I ever get out to eat again.

You get them from your surgeon you cant just make them, If you have a support group then maybe make it a suggestion and then print a whole bunch and have your surgeon sign them.

Hey Karen, I have seen them in several of the exam room's there at Baptist. You will be able to eat out again, don't worry about that. The only thing is that you need to come to a Lunch Bunch and or Dinner Club or other event so we can help you out.

You should have been given one in your new patient guide. Call and ask about it.

To tell you the truth, I have pulled mine out one time in the almost 3 years since my surgery. I have only had a couple of cases where a restaurant wouldn't let me order off of the child's menu (if I wanted to - most of them are not WLS friendly). Most of the time restaurants are very willing to make reasonable changes to fit my needs, like grilling my chicken tenders instead of breading and deep frying them; no butter or sauce on chicken, fish, veggies, whatever; leave the rice off; etc.

My biggest problem in restaurants is getting them to stop bringing me glasses of water I don't want once I'm ready for my meal!!
