Today I SERIOUSLY overslept, but forced myself to get on the elliptical anyway. I did my 20 minutes, but it wasn't particularly speedy or anything. Just getting back into the habit, first and foremost, after my month hiatus to focus on BREATHING because of my stupid cold.
In spite of my lateness, I also went ahead and walked in. Tonight is the laprascopic band support group meeting and I'm not sure if I'll feel like hoofing it to the car in the freezing dark. Better to check it off in the freezing, gray morning.
I don't know if it's an obesity thing or a just specific to me thing, but I generate a LOT of heat. I start out comfy in my coat, but as I get moving, I get hot and start stripping outer layers off about 2/3 of the way in on my morning trek. First I unzip the jacket. Then lose the gloves and scarf. By the time I get to the building, off goes the coat! I guess it'd be easy to find me. No Bob Route signs, just follow the winter wear!
Today I guess I didn't really grasp the concept of 38 degrees. I always wear skirts 'cause they're more comfortable but I am staunchly opposed to hose. This morning I made the brilliant choice of wearing my light rain coat and a knee length skirt! My shins were bright red by the time I got to the building. Talk about feeling the burn!
I had to sing that song from the old Christmas special to keep me going: "Put one foot in front of the otherrrrr, and soon you'll be walkin' cross the floor-oor-ooor!" Kris Kringle was trying to teach penguins how to walk or something. It was from that claymation Burgermeister-Meisterburger claymation thing from the Rudolph series. But I digress.
I really wanted to flag down a shuttle and jump on to its snuggly warmness, but I sucked it up like a trooper. 6 pounds. 6 pounds.
So I did a plodding 20 minutes on my machine and a brisk 20 minute, shin freezing walk.
What have you done or will you do today for exercise?
