Any one fromt he KNoxville area!!!?

Hello All,
I am getting ready to go to graduate school at UT.  I was wondering if any one knew of a Baratric surgeon in the area to do my follow up with or a local support group.  Thanks for any help.

Hi, I am from the area.  Dr Stephen Boyce is at Parkwest hospital and considered the best in the area.  But, he is hard to get to follow you if he didn't do the surgery.  Dr Greg Mancini is at UT Medical Center and he might follow you.  Welcome to TN!

I was hoping Marilyn would be able to answer your question!  I'm from Nashville, so I have no idea about Knoxville surgeons.  Just wanted to sop in and say...WELCOME!

I have a friend that moved to Knoxville from the Midwest and Dr. Boyce agreed to follow her. I would think since you are relocating he would consider following you. He did my surgery and I have had a really good experience with their office. Crystal (their dietician) and Kelly (exercise physiologist) are fantastic.

Dr.'s Jonathan Ray and Mark Colquitt at Blount Memorial Weightloss Center in Maryville (just outside Knoxville).  Wonderful folks.  Support group meetings are 1st Thursday of each month.

I had surgery with Dr. Williams, Dr. Boyce's partner.  They are both wonderful, although I'm partial to Dr. Williams.  Their staff is also amazing.

We have about 8 or so different support groups throughout the month and would love to meet you.  We have a yahoo group that lists the support groups and their times/location.  If you go to yahoo groups and type in Knoxville WLS, it should pull up our group.

I also enjoy the support groups held by the new UT bariatric program.  They meet at 5 pm on the second Wednesday of each month (tomorrow!) and at noon on the last Saturday of each month.  You can call their office for directions to where their office is located at the hospital...I would try to give them to you, but I'm really bad at it and would make no sense.  You can get their telephone number from the UT Medical Center website.

Thanks Marilyn. I need to get a new picture, that one is from back in August.  You look amazing too. I was at FSS a few weeks ago and Cindy tried to help me find you, but we missed each other. Hope I can see you in person soon.

I had my follow  up yesterday at Dr. Boyce's office (my one year but I was a little late) and asked them if they accept patients in transfer from other states. They said it was a case by case basis, but most of the time they could accept those folks. Hope that helps.
