Dr. Richards office faxed my stuff to the insurance co yesterday(12/05)  Now I REALLY am a nervous wreck!  The post card notifying me said to expect an answer in 4-6 weeks.  Is that right? Is it because of the holidays?

That probably is a "generic" card sent to everyone they get paperwork for.  Most of the rulings I know of have been quicker than that.  Praying that your positive answer will come quickly.

Jennifer is doing good.  Her first round of chemo went great (no sickness , no loss of appetite)  her platlets are still a little low, but not critical.  She starts her second round tomorrow.  Thanks for asking and keep us in your prayers.

Bobbie in Dr. Richard's was my insurance guru!  She had EVERYTHING in such wonderful order, the insurance didn't question anything.  I had my approval from CIGNA in about two weeks.   But don't know if that is typical or not, I was happily suprised that I didn't have to wait as long as the post card said!

Will keep my fingers crossed for ya!

Good Morning ErikaAnn!

This sounds like a genric letter to me.   Don't sweat it, and be prepared to sweat it it out!  But don't be afraid to call them and check up.  I called the insurance office on a regular basis, just to check out the following:

1) Had it been recieved ?
2) Was all the documents that were needed, recieved ?
3) Are the documents in the correct department ?
4) Most important, have they made a decision?

I know that sounds like a lot, but this surgery is for you, not them.  This is your life, not thiers.  Insurance companys are in the business to make money, not spend it!

So. now that I have scared you to death, take my normal advice I give to everyone...wether they need it or not...

BREATHE!  It will hapen in God's time!

As usual, all good advice! But, the last piece is the key--God's timing.  I'm a firm believer in the Sovereignty of God, so I need to remember what I believe!
Thanks, Scott!

That is great news Erika, at least you know that they have gotten it and sent it on it's way. As far as the 4-6 weeks thing, I have not heard of that, but then again, there is alot out in the world that I have not heard of..........lol Just stay focus and keep us posted.

It has helped me to re-focus this last week.  I had started to get those old feelings of giving up on ever losing any weight.  Thanks for the encouragement!
