Today I went to my doctor for a regular check up and he informed me I was gonna have to have back surgery again...ugh. I know that until I have WLS I am gonna have to keep having back surgery. My doctor also informed me that I was developing Rheumatoid Arthritis I don't know what else can go wrong with me at this point I am just hoping that I get approved for WLS and I will start getting better. Feeling better at least. Thanks for letting me vent. I only hope that all that is wrong with me will help me get WLS.....

I would think that all those problems couldn't hurt the chances of getting WLS approved.  But I'd rather see you get approved without them.  Who needs the ordeal of another surgery or co-morbid?  Will keep you in my prayers.

Sonya have you done any research on RA?  My mom was diagnosed with RA 4 years ago.  It is a difficult disease that never goes away.  You are in my thoughts.    She has had back issues since she was in her teens.  They now think that was probably the onset of RA.  Have you seen an Rheumatologist yet?  I do hope you can have WLS but take care of yourself regardless.

I know what you mean about feeling better......It was all I could focus on prior to surgery.

I havent done any research yet my doctor said he hated to give me some more bad news then lowered the boom on me about the RA. I will be sure to do some research on it right now its just sinking in. Thank you for your concern. But I do hope that WLS will help me in alot of ways...Thanks so much.

I ve had it rough since I was 18 that is when all my health issues started. I was noy prepared to hear that about RA I was just wondering why I was swelling up so bad. I was swelling double. I have alot of tingling in my hands and in my feet numbness but not real bad pain. I was just hoping he is wrong. I am sorry to hear that you have RA nad I wish you well. Thanks for your concern I just didnt know what a great asset being a member of OH was gonna be it is great to hear from everyone and I love all the advice I get. You all are treasures to me. Thanks a million.

Sonya,
I too was diagnosed with RA and Carpal Tunnel and was told for the Carpal Tunnel mine was so bad surgery was my only option.
I couldn't hold a cell phone more then 10 seconds without having to change hands.
Well I held off I wanted to see what WLS would take care of first. Now I have no more signs of Carpal Tunnel nor joint pain!
Not to say I don't still have it but for at least now I have no daily issues. I would hate to see you having additional surgery when maybe medication your on could be causing inflammation and the extra weight exaggerating the condition.
When post WLS might greatly reduce your issues. Just my .02 cents worth best of luck. C'ya Bob

Hi Sonya, I too have medicaid thru Blue Care but medicare is my primary.  If I can get approved after just finding out I have leukemia, then I am sure you will be able to get approved. I am sorry to hear about the RA.  Mom has it really bad in her fingers.  I'll keep you on my prayer list.

I learned a valuable lesson recently.  God isn't the one who has left me causing me several mental and physical health issues.  I started doubting myself and that's when the devil decided to intervene.  He puts problems on us, to make us question things.  God gives us no more then we can handle, but the devil gives us more and more.  He could careless whether we can handle it or not as long as he is in control of our lives.  People blame God for when things aren't going right or when there is a serious problem in our lives.  But it isn't God, but the devil at work.  So rely on God to help you thru all this and trust him to make things work for you.

In His name, Kathy
