We are traveling to my sister's in Georgia.  I decided to make regular dressing for everyone else.  I am making some cornbread with almond flour and eggbeaters to go in a light version of dressing for my sister and I.  I am making bariatriceating.com's sugarfree cranberry sauce and sweet potato casserole.  For dessert, I am making a sugarfree sweet potato pie using eggbeaters.  Then, I'll eat a bite or two of what really looks goodl!  So, what are your plans for handling feast day?
:-)

Mom is cooking for us this year. My brother Larry and his family will be in from Ohio to be with us all. I am sure Mom has lots of good healthy foods she will make for her and I that are WL friendly. I will be making all the yucky stuff for all the picky eating kids, mac-n-cheese,chicken nuggets, ect. I don't know how much I will eat, we had a Thanksgiving Dinner at church Sunday after service and it made me very sick! So I may be staying away from most everything this time around.LOL
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

Like Stacy says, Mom is cooking.  Her menu includes:  turkey, ham, sweet potato casserole, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, dressing, broccoli salad, and for dessert reduced sugar homemade apple pie (she used the sugar-free apple pie filling and splenda), I'm making a turtle pumpkin pie, and I have made peanut butter fluff.

We have tried to make everything WLS friendly as possible but some things cannot.  Mom and I spent this past Saturday and Sunday pre-making as much as we can and freezing it so it is less to do Thursday morning.  Only a few things left to fix that would spoil between now and then.

Hope everyone has a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING and a safe drive if you have too.

We are having Thanksgiving at Mom's. I will be going up early Thursday to help out. She has allready got alot done and in the freezer. I am a little bummed out allready, I found out that my brother and his family, that I have just go back in contact with after 20 year's is not going to be able to make it, for whatever reason. I will know today if we will get to see Joey (my youngest), Andrea (his girl friend) and the new grandbaby, she is over two months old and I have not seen her since the day she was born. Also, my step-dad is having his other eye surgery today. So I am just trying to keep my hopes up that all this will work out and we will have a great day. I am fixing sugar free chess pie (Thanks Ash) and sugar free pecan pie (Thanks Baptist). Of course we will be watching the Titan's kick butt. Hope everyone has a great and safe day. We all need to take pictures and post to share with our OH family.

Love you guys,
Cheryl

Well, just found out that my daughter has clinicals with the Oak Ridge Fire Dept. on Thanksgiving Day.  She has 12 hrs left to get before her national registry exam next week.  So, we will have Thanksgiving with her on Sunday, and sure miss her at my sister's..
Happy Thanksgiving

I'm cooking here for Dail and the kids and I. This will be my last Thanksgiving preop so I'm cooking a traditional meal. We will have our meal for lunch as Bethany and Kailee are both working Thanksgiving night. Bethany and Brandon and the baby are coming over to spend the night Wednesday night so Beth can help me with the cooking. She and Kailee both want to learn how to do the Thanksgiving meal this year. We will probably watch Christmas movies while we cook Wednesday night. I usually make the pies, the heavenly hash, and the stuffing the night before.  Our menu includes:

Roast Turkey
Mushroom and Walnut Stuffing
Spiral Brown Sugar and Pineapple Ham
Mashed Potatoes
Biscuits
Gravy
Green Bean Casserole
Pumpkin Pie
French Coconut Pie
Heavenly Hash

Next year, of course, things will be very different. I'm hoping to get the tree and the Christmas decorations up before Thursday. I'm very excited to be having the whole family here.
