Hello everyone! I get a chance to check in every now and then and this is one of those times, especially when homework isn't so burdensome and this has been a pretty easy week except for all of the reading.

I wanted to update everyone on my wls progress as well as my educational progress.

I am now weighing 235 pounds. Believe it or not my knees don't feel so bad now. I do get stiff from the arthritis but as far as a lot of pain I don't have that anymore. I was in PT but am finished with it and it has really helped in more than one way. I now have 55 more pounds to lose before I meet my dieticians goal of 180 pounds. ONEderville will be such a welcome sight, when I get there. I've lost a total of 162 pounds, it's great and I feel wonderful all except for my low potassium that almost caused me to faint a few weeks ago.

As for my educational progress, things are going about as smooth as I had hoped for them to. I think I will make it out of this 6 weeks with at least a high B or an A average. I'll take it!

Yes, I'm still working on my little booklet, so as you guys and dolls can see I'm a very busy woman but still have to make some time to come and at least say hello to one and all.

Hey there Bob! Yeah my goal is coming a bit fast, but no complaints from me, it is what it is. I saw Dr. Richards and he was so happy, he doesn't have a problem so neither do I. I could have never imagined in all of my fat little life that as an adult I would weigh this little and be able to get into the smaller sizes that I'm able to wear..

Diane

I am so happy for you. And, I sure miss you on the board.  I had a laughing partner then...  Nowadays its kind of quiet.  Everyone is so busy this time of year...  You have lost so much; you have so much to be proud of.

As for me, Tim & I bought a house and now are in the process of doing some remodeling before we move in late January...  so its kept me very busy.  Take care and keep checkin back in with us!  Luv ya girl

Hey Mel! I hate being away from the board but I have a new life and I need a new career to go along with it.

I'm still working hard at getting to my goal and I guess everybody can see how serious I am about being healthier and I'm not stopping at anything.... I might not even stop at my dietician's goal.....LOL. After all it's "her" goal not mine......

It feels so good to have people ask me how I keep my self discipline. They often ask how much I've lost and I tell them and they are just floored.  I have to put up some new pictures, especially a new avatar, the difference is amazing from my last avatar, almost unbelievable. I'll have to take an avatar photo in a pair of my jeans.

I know I'm still early out but I called my plastic surgeon's office and they have me scheduled for a consultation in December so that I can get the monetary difference in what my insurance will pay for and what I'll have to pay out of pocket. I'll have plenty of time to save up for it. I've used him before and I love him, he's also sexy but married. But seroiusly he does take good care of his patients.

I am so happy for you and Tim.......wow a new year and a new house, that's awesome. I love looking at remodeled houses, too bad you can't share some before and after pics, we're used to that though aren't we, "before and after". I do wish you two the best with the new house.  I'll check in again as soon as I get another break.

((((HUGS))))

Hey, Diane!  You sound like you are doing great!  I'm sure you are looking forward  to winter break from school.  How are things going with food?  I turned in all my stuff to Dr. Richard's office and am waiting til the tell me they have sent it all to insurance...I'm going crazy waiting.  Remember, you are gonna lead the way for me!

Hello Erika! I was wondering how things were going for you. I see things are moving for you and I'm happy.  Please don't go crazy while waiting you will need your sanity after surgery........lol

The food is not bad at all. As any WLS veteran knows sometimes you have to use the old noggin and get a little creative in the kitchen, I do that often. I am now in the regular foods stage but find myself rejecting a lot of things that I used to love. They just no longer really interest me. I can have one slice of bread and 2-3 crackers but just not really interested. I've eaten a small slice of reduced fat cheese and 2 crackers and was happy with it. I can have a tablespoon of reduced fat peanut butter but just not too interested. I'm sticking to chicken breast and pork sirloin those meats seem to agree with my pouch better. I can have lettuce and other raw vegetables and fruits but not really interested, although the other night I cooked about 2.5- 3 ounces of pork sirloin and boiled a small apple that cooked down to 2 tablespoons exactly. I added a pack of sweetener to the apple and that little meal was very appetizing. I was thinking about Homer Simpson while I was eating, because I know he loves apple sauce with his pork chops.....lol I eat very little, so life is good and I'm happy and Dr. Richards is happy so that's all that matters to me, besides my nutrition. Hoping the best for you! Remember we're all here for you.

Hi Diane,
Congrats on all of the progress that you've made so far.  I know how hard it is going to school and trying to "behave" these days.  I started Motlow this past summer part time and now I'm going full time.  It's hard to get used to going to school again.  I just wanted to remind you that I've got a support group here in Shelbyville that meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at Fair Haven Baptist Church from 7-8:30 pm.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hugs,
Tammy P
