OT: Child's view of a storm

A little 6 year old girl, Molly,  walked to and from school daily. Though the weather that morning was questionable and clouds were forming, she made her daily trek to the elementary school. As the afternoon progressed, the winds whipped up, along with some intense lightning.

Molly's mother felt concerned that her daughter would be frightened as she walked home from school and she feared the electrical storm might harm her child. Filled with concern, the mother quickly got into her car and drove along the route to Molly's school. About a block from the school she saw her little girl walking along. With each flash of lightning, Molly would stop, look up to the sky, and smile. Another and another flash of lighting followed quickly and with each the little girl would look at the streak of light and smile.

When the mother's car drew up beside the child she lowered the window and called to her 'What on earth are you doing Molly?'

Molly answered 'I'm trying to smile and look pretty 'cause God keeps on taking my picture, Mommy!'

INNOCENCE, or the WISDOM of a child?  I hope you'll remember Molly whenever you face the storms that come your way...

Well, I guess this little message wasn't as impressive to others as it was to me.   Oh well, I still like it.

Bob,
I think the message is great.  If only some of the uptight adults could look at the world through the eyes of a child.

Yep! My thoughts exactly Darlene.  I thought this was relative to us WL surgery patients in that when we were obese, even the simple things, like tossing a football with a grandson or even just walking up a flight of stairs were difficult to do or enjoy.  Now, post-op,  I try to enjoy the simple, everyday miracles of being alive and enjoy each and every day!  Learn to enjoy the simple things in life, the experience of living! Stop and smell the roses.  Be thankful for what you have, and take nothing for granted.
