220 lbs. WooWhoooo!!
Hey folks, I just posted some new pics on my profile. I am now down to 220 pounds! That's 146 pounds lost since Feb.9, 2008 and 113 lbs. since my surgery on April 28, 2008! WooWhoooo!!!I'm down a total of 168 pounds from my highest of 388 last November! (And still losing.)
I am now wearing a size Large shirt (down from 3XL) and size 38 pants (down from size 50). Actually, I can wear a size 36 pants, but they are still a tad too snug.
This WLS works if you work it!!

Thanks folks! It sure does feel good to be able to actually function normally and enjoy life again. This time last year I was 388 pounds and still gaining weight, I was on 11 different medications daily, had sleep apnea, edema of the feet, ankles, legs and hands, had congestive heart failure, and was pre-diabetic. I couldn't walk up the 2 flights of stairs at work without having to stop at each landing to catch my breath. I could not even toss the football with my grandon for over 5 minutes without having to stop and go sit down. Going to the gym and exercising was totally out of the question. When my cardiologist and PCP said I needed to consider WLS in order to have a chance to live more than 2 or 3 more years, it hit liker a ton of bricks. I'd already seen my health go downhill from the heart attacks in 2002. I came here and started lurking and researching the surgery. Reading your posts daily and seeing your successes convinced me that I could and would have the surgery.
Now, just 7 months after my surgery, I only take 1 medication a day, am no longer pre-diabetic, do not have edema any more, do not have to use the bi-pap for sleep apnea any more, and can exercise and play with the grandkids without any problem. Life is good again!
Bob L., Scott, Trina, Mel, Marilyn, and all the rest of you folks have been and are still my support group, along with the guys on the Men's Forum. That has been a huge part of me being as succesful as I have thus far. I sincerely appreciate all of you for being here, offering your support, and keeping me accountable! It DOES make a difference!
