So much MORE than an NSV (non scale victory)
I got up the other day and realized i needed to wear dress clothes to work. Well, I had not worn them since my plastics was done and guess what..yep, all too big. So this weekend my bff and I went shopping. I went to NY&Co (because I love their dress pants) and tried on a 12...nope too big, then a 10....nope too big, then an 8. Okay people, that is a single digit. I got light headed. I was actually nervous pulling them on....
I flashed back to being a 10 yr old girl having to wear a Womens size 14. After the husky sizes made for kids, I was forced to wear big adult clothes. I was tortured as a child when all my friends wore the cute kids clothes. My weight was always there to make me miserable. I was never called cute just big. I have never ever visited single digits. Ever.
My bff just looked at me and said, what are you waiting for.
The size 8 dress pant fit perfectly. And I mean perfectly. I was floored. Stunned.
We then proceeded to Ann Taylor Loft (which I had never been in before because I thought they just carried little dainty things for petite little dainty people). I got a pair of Ann Taylor size 8 jeans. I brought them to work with me today with the tag still on just to show folks.
I know I dont have pics, they are coming tho. But that is not why I shared this.
I know in my head and heart, I finally heard that little 10 yr old girl... giggle. Pure joy.
So, ask me if sticking with the program we talk about here and I talk about to everyone that has had weight loss surgery is worth it.
Muah yall!

What a victory! I'm not where you are (YET), but I did go shopping in my closet last week. I put on clothes that I had not work in over 2 years - wore one of the suits to church yesterday! To me, the clothes thing is more important to me than what the scales are saying. I'm 2 sizes smaller than I was! Then, went to Goodwill to browse, and it won't be long before I'll be wearing pants that are 3 sizes smaller! I'm beside myself, and I'm so happy for us both!
Paula, You looked really small when I saw you at the diabetes fair the other day... I almost told you its time to go shopping for some smaller work clothes... I told Tim how good you looked, and that you had diminished right before my eyes. You look wonderful, and have worked so very hard to get to this point. I hope nothing but happiness for you!
Hey Princess Tiny Hiney!
Your story brought a tear to my eye. I adore you more than you will ever know because you are such a good example and so helpful. My rocky parts of my journey were made smooth by those who went before me and were such good teachers.
I adore you and will celebrate your victory by raising an AchievOne in your honor!
Proud to call you my bariatric sister!
