After reviewing the statistical census (dated 2000) for Jonesborough, TN I'm baffled. This town epitomizes the very essence of what is happening to our nations' economy, health care and education.

In Jonesborough unemployment and SSI disability benefits exceeds the national average. Only 19% of the entire population has earned a college degree. These are very sobering and sad facts. How is it possible a inporverished town like this can support today's GOP party, when it clearly doesn't support you?

Your thoughts?

Thank you for bringing our little town out into the spotlight, but here we like to rely on our own abilities and talents. We know here the government is mainly for defense and to keep order. The GOP and DNC are not going to give us what barbed wire we could eat.
It is best to try to just make it in life on your own.

Take care,
Vanessa from Jonesborough
