Oh Scott, you haven't "Goodwilled" until you've done it with me and Mel. We would start by choosing stuff off the racks that you would look right over but we know would be perfect for you. Then we'd get you in a dressing room so we could give you an unbiased opinion of everything you try on. Like Mel said, she never would have chosen those dresses for herself because she couldn't really see how great she looked in them.

I don't think we'd do the skin comparison thing with you though. Aren't you relieved?? LOL

Thanks for the offer of not comparing skin issues!  I believe that might have caused troubles within my marriage!  LOL!!!

I will confess though.  When we went to east Tenn. a couple of weeks ago, I had a new experience.  I can not stand to go shopping for myself. While Beth & Shelia went shopping, Todd, the boys and I went to ride go-carts.  The next day, Beth and I went shopping for me!  WOW, what an experience.  I bought clothes I never would have bought for myself.  The trouble is, now I am looking at clothes in a whole different view.  I can by clothes off the shelf and actually look good in them.  Oh no!

I hope I can get a handle o it before it becomes a transfer addiction!  Just kidding, I enjoy having money more!

Hey Gail. I wanted to check and see how the lunch bunch went...

Let me just say YES you would want to go to Goodwill with me and Susan! It's fun when a bunch of wls'ers get together and goodwilling!  Last year Kym, Shelia, Susan and I went...  they talked me into a few evening gowns, and I got great use out of them at Christmas time...  I went to several Xmas parties...  and wore them all.  It was awesome.  And, if left to my own devices, I would not have ever picked out those gowns or bought them....  it was pre-plastic surgery days and Shelia & Susan talked me into buying them. At $4 each, how could I not? Or at least that was their reasoning...

It was kinda a dud.  Only Carol and myself showed up.  We didn't go to Goodwill but to Peebles and then Walmart.  Peebles is a nice department store in smaller towns.  Carol once told me that she donates to Goodwill but had never thought of shopping there.  The only person who ever shops there with me is my 9 year old granddaughter Haley.  She loves it.  I know I would enjoy going with your bunch.  I started going to thrift shops many years ago when I was still married and with 2 boys to clothe and very little money.  My house burned almost 10 years ago.  I needed to replace everything.   I still look for things that I once owned and have pretty good luck in doing so.  Most of my furniture and 95% of mine and Haley's clothes comes from thrift shops and yard sales.  Sometimes you can even find good buys in antique shops. The bad thing is that I buy too much and can't bear to part with anything.

When will your next luncheon be? Our November Lunch Bunch is November 8th. The 15th Bill and I will be in Mobile for our nephew's wedding. The next Saturday is Thanksgiving weekend.

I may have to catch you in December.

We had originally set up the date for the 3rd Sat of the month but changed it this month because one of the gals had to work.  She had a death in the family out of state and couldn't make it yesterday.  That would make it the 15th of Nov.  We don't plan too far ahead.

First of all, I was wrong...the 22nd is not Thanksgiving weekend. DOH!

But, since the third Saturday is the 15th and we will be in Mobile, I will have to miss November's lunch. Like I said, maybe I can catch y'all in December.

I would like to travel down to be part of this next Nov 15th lunch bunch, Gail if that is ok with you.  Perhaps a few of us can ride down together...  Juanita would you like to ride with me?  Tim would be glad since he will not have to go! LOL...

The only thing is, we are set to close our house on Nov 15th but I dont think it will be a problem for me to come.

If some of you can come down we will certainly adjust our time to accommodate you.  Don't want you to have to get up too early.  It is around a 2 hour drive.  You can take 65 or 24.  65 is the most direct.  It's about 13 east after you exit on a 4 lane highway 64.  If you come 24 you get off around Manchester and then have to come through Tullahoma or Winchester.  From Tullahoma you come right by Jack Daniel's.  Wouldn't want any of you to get lost there.  You can't buy it there.  Moore county is dry.  We are planning on La Fuente Mexican restaurant this time.  It is across the street from Goodwill.
