Protein powder and preop diet...

Today is my first day of the preop diet.  I can't believe this has all come up so fast, but I honestly feel that I'm as ready as one can be.  My friend's husband was approved for surgery the week before me and started his preop diet last week, but I found out yesterday that he has decided to postpone any kind of surgery because he's having second thoughts about doing gastric bypass and is now considering reapplyiing for the lap band.  I have mixed feelings about this, and now that I do NOT want to end up giving up too...not when I'm this close.  Knowing that so many people have done this before me helps me face it.  I also keep reminding myself that if all else fails this is the perfect time for a deep religious experience, drawing closer to the heart of God instead of focusing on being hungry!

On another note...I bought some of the Nectar Fuzzy Navel protein powder because I heard that it is wonderful, especially when mixed with the sunrise orange Crystal Light that is my favorite.  I'm finding that it isn't as easy to mix as others thought it would be, and I'm not a fan of the flavor.  Is there anyone here that likes it and might want this container?  I don't like the thought of throwing it away since it was a little expensive, but I know that I'm not going to use it.  Just let me know and we can get it to you

Hang in there! Each day of the pre-op gets better. The type of surgery you choose is a personal choice......you will do great! Keep reminding yourself why you choose this in the first place. Keep the goal in mind.

Just a thought - you might want to keep the Nectar Fuzzy Navel protein powder. You may like it after your surgery. Your tastes will change - at least most folk's does.

I've heard that tastes change, but I really don't think I'll decide that I like it.  Luckily it looks like someone would like to have it, so that makes me feel better.  I just didn't want to waste it when someone might like it and could use it now.

Thank you for your thought.  It's weird to think about my tastes changing.  I wish I could suddenly find everything that's bad for me to be detestable, but that probably won't be the case...lol.
