I'm 60 and worried that my recovery time may be harder than if I were 35 but I guess anything is better than the way I feel now with all this weight.  Any comments on age would be appreciated.

Hi can't talk about 60 but I'm in my 50's and had Dr. Richard and recovery for me was easier then recovery from the flu. Good luck and glad to have you here. C'ya Bob

I'm 55 and had lap rny in April. Recovery time was not nearly as long or as bad as when I had arthroscopic shoulder surgery.  Like Bob L., I've had the flu that made me feel worse and took longer to recuperate.

I'm over 60 and I went back to work in 2 weeks.   I only stayed overnight in the hospital.  I think I could have gone back after a week but due to the liquid diet without much substance, I felt somewhat weak. I sit in front of a computer all day, but I have a 60 mile round trip drive to work.  My surgeon said I would be a slow loser because of my age and the amount I need to lose.  A lady I go to church with had her surgery when she was 68.  I don't believe she's had any problems.  60 is young these days.

I don't know if it really has anything to do with age, I think you mind set and if you are ready for the change, as well as ready to adapt to the change.  And know in your heart and mind this is what I am gonna to do for me to feel, succeed, in my weight loss journey then that is what it will be.  A positive reaction makes the difference. Research and investigate everything that you can get your hands on, make sure it is right for you. myspace comments
