How does the vertical sleeve differ from the bypass in recovery time?

I don't off hand know of anyone here who has VSG so no one may know how to answer your question. There is a VSG board though where they will have a lot more knowledge for you. I just want to point you to where you can get good answers to your questions.

My sister had vertical sleeve and recovered a lot quicker than I did.  For me it was only 2 weeks before I was back at work!

Good morning! Our sleeve patients are returning to work at the same rate or sooner than our bypass patients. They are typically in the hospital 2 days.

Hello, I am the sister Scott is refering to.  I did have the sleeve and seem to recooperate faster than Scott did.  Was out of the hospital on Saturday and was singing in our church canta on Sunday.  I have had no problems other than heartburn.  I was told that was normal for this type of surgery.  I have currently lost 188 pounds and stll have about 25 more to go to meet my goal.  If you can think of any specific questions give me a shout out.  MElissa

Melissa is the one that came to my mind, I myself had the rny-- she us such a wonderful friend, lil sis and all around great person to ask.
  And that is what I thank of Ms. Melissa, she and Beth are just wonderful, by the way that is her SIL. But there are so many others on the board that at anytime you want to ask we are here too.
